Friends..at morn, i was deeply thinking about a new propultion systems, for my oncoming submarine projects..and was thinking and refering about many motor systems for a good under water propultion..suddenly, i cam eon one thing..a brushless motor is not commutated by any means of mechanical link..so, it must induce the EMF, between the magnets and sator..through water..so, i tried to run many motors under water..and amazingly it workes perfectly..so, i made a test bed, with motor under water, holding a prop on it..the only thing that i done is insulating the three wires, from motor to ESC with epoxy..it works like a dream..so i took the craft to canal, and lake, worked well..and the motor is in coolest position as it submerged in water..so, i replaced some ball bearings from motor to brass bushes, to avoid rusting..it made even more versatile..now, i am coated the winding in PU paint, for further water proofing..here some test results..
this motor is from a VCR, and i reworked it for my new big tug boat..it is far powerful..here we are taking a test with it..
you can see the reworked winding..
now dipping in water and powering the ESC..as no pulses back to ESC it trips..still nothing wrong is happened..

now the out runner back..can see the insulation on wire junctions with Epoxy glue..

now..time to check out..

will it work..? have any video..? sure see here my first test video..more videos follows even in salt water...

Augustine Sir..still working on it..amazing results..still waiting for the stuffs.. :salute:
Swiz..its all easy..cool..

now..testing with reworked CD drive motor..

with a commercially available motor of 1450 RPM/Volts..

works perfectly..no amazements..because all we know, a brushless motor must work under water because the magnetic flux will flow through the stator to rotor through water..nicely..and in salt water i got even more torque, to a given throttle range, but took some extra current..will this drive a craft..? follows..and adding the video for above test results..but my connection shows it will take about 4 hours to upload.. :giggle:  still trying..if gone wrong will upload from a computer centre.. :giggle:

more test results..now working on a destroyer and a submarine with this idea..

Boss do you realise the potential of this 'discovery'? GREAT JOB Roopesh!

Augustine Sir, VC Sir..thank you, and its true..actually i was taking a lots of pain, while making an amphibian vehicle, and submarines..now, i am coating the stator with PU paint, by spraying on it, is a 1000 time water and moisture proof, and also with stands a high degree of heat..and one more request..is, please remove the ball bearings from using motor, and can make a straight bush from Stainless steel, and can also make a motor shaft from stainless steel, then can make our motors immortal..and all we know, an amphibian, and submarine is a machine, one take more care than a usual craft..so, we can blow some air with a bicycle pump to splash out any water in motor after ride..and a penetrating motor cycle chain lubricant spary also helps a lots..this cans costs about 80 to 100 Rs/- and will last for years with a modeller..now, completed a hull and tests follows roughly..making an amphibian..and submarine..easy..because all we are RC INDIANS... :salute: :salute: :salute:

;D ;D ;D nice work  {:)} i have seen this on cruise ships btw has any one heard of the AZI POD the full ele motor with the prop is submerged under water

But really nice work

Sergio..such thrust vector mechanisms are too easy to make..we can fix the motors outside, or can fix it inside..here is the simple mechanism, made of handy things..       http://www.rcindia.org/boats/make-this-simple-thrust-vectoring-mechanism-for-our-boats-and-tugs/.

and here is the craft as finished..see how simple it all..so, please make some nice crafts our own..with above shown potential its even more easy..here is the link for finished craft..  http://www.rcindia.org/boats/its-my-tiny-tini-the-little-mighty-tug/.  make it..RCyit..enjoy it.. :salute: :hatsoff:
