What have you used to add extra strength to the wings?? Any CF rods?? How have you pasted the parts??? How will you attach the motor to the body...??

Hi Guys
I just wanted to know
Is Avispad a good trainer for beginners?

I have also made the wing with 3mm coro. But the horizontal flute cannot give me the proper shape but enough strength. I have reinforced with thermocol support.
Initially I have thought to keep the gap with coro itself, but not works well.
The thermocol reinforcement works fine, but as the weight given during drying of BondTite, the top portion shrinks and gives corner shaped.

Though I have made the fuselage with same 3mm coro, some reinforcement made to strengthen joints. Outer sides are first fixed with cellotape and then BondTite. However, wooden support below wing have not been fixed.
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.

I have chosen 2822 Motor with 11x4.7 or 10x6 prop with 25A ESC and 3S battery, 1000mAh for the setup with 9gm servo (As I have no alternative).

Does it can fly or the motor need much power ? The motor recommends 10x4.7 prop for maximum output. My props are little overload the motor, but I think, this may give much thrust. Servos will be attached inside with foam tape (Both end glue). Control surfaces and pom horns need to be attached. Thinking of wheel with CD foam spacers.

Fuselage length = 24"
Wingspan = 36"
I have not measured the weight yet.

Kalyan Da, if the flutes in your wing were parallel to the chord rather then being perpendicular to it, you would have got a better airfoil shape.

I think the prop will burn the motor. It says in one of the reviews for that motor "DO NOT USE 10X6". Read this after my motor got busted.

hi guys some mor pics of my avispad an u plz tell how to make landing gear

ritz

:help: how o make landing gear

SunLikeStar

Good progress on the plane {:)} For the landing gear use 4mm spring steel rods. I think you are using cycle spoke right now :)

Can I use any of these motors to build a Avispad

650 mah 3S battery

2 * 5 gms rudder and elevator
2 or 1 * 9 gms for aileron

Vel,i think the thumb rule for electrics is going by the AUW..So its better to build first and calculate the app AUW for the motor selection..

motor - 50 gms
battery -  50 gms
2 * 9 gms - 18gms
2 * 5 gms - 10 gms
total - 128 + 50(junk) = 180 gms

So how much should be my wing span?

Dont use such a big prop for you motor as it will burn it definitely use a max  prop size of 9x.4.8 for this motor...
i have already burnt 2 of these motors using a 1047 prop

use 9gm servos all over if u do want to use 5 gm servos use them on ailerons
and use 9 gm on rudder and elevators

use a 180W+ motor for this plane...
as it will be heavy on account of being made for corro

Akky can you show me one motor from HK which fits this?

Also both these motors seems to pull around 700 gms of thrust. Is that not enough. since the electronics is only 200 gms. How much would be the frame?

akky

go for this
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6247

actually all good motors are out of stock ...on Hk
bell motors mostly the best for these types of corro trainer

Ritz,

Refer our telephonic discussion, i don't miss a thread, somehow i missed yours, redo the whole thing, don't get impatient, first time working on coro ? go with a flat plate wing with re-inforced flutes or Kfm wings, undercarriage cannot go through and through like that, apply some logic, in aviation if there is any doubt, there is no doubt, it is not workable. remember this golden rule,

i am attaching a pic of undercarriage, you can even make it or buy it from mr sai here is the link( http://cgi.ebay.in/LANDING-GEAR-LIGHT-WEIGHT-DIA-2-MM-/150592723916?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203&hash=item2310069bcc)

you can even use this nine eagles one, just one slot and reinforce it from the inside you have your undercarriage , you can buy it here (http://cgi.ebay.in/LANDING-GEAR-NINE-EAGLES-XTRA-300-/150603905871?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203&hash=item2310b13b4f0 ), you can take an idea and make it your self. Patience is the key, enjoy your build, don't look for quicky in aeromodelling, savour it,

Did you check your CG before maiden ? was it accurate to 1-2 mm ? short chord wings, that is the problem. CG has got to be perfect, if you have doubt keep it at 20 % chord.

how was your thrust line, wing tips to tailplane tips, do you have enough experience to maiden a plane or somebody else did it for you. (If you have built a good plane and crashed it because of inexperience , you will blame the plane and not your skill, it is but natural. get someone experienced to maiden for you).

any doubt, gimme a call. in the meanwhile please read up , hang around with experienced aeromodellers, i am not trying to dishearten you, this route of yours, DIY from scratch, can frustrate you and you may give up the hobby. take care of that.

Gusty's Hangar and Introduction.

A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

hiii guys
very sad news
i crashed my trainer avispad
my fuselage & propelor is much damaged so should i go with this plane or go with any other plane suggest me plsssss

SunLikeStar

As discussed earlier, you should get some sim time first. You were very lucky to get away this time. I am sure people will help you out in setting up your radio with FMS if you ask for it.

sultan alam

So so sorry to know!!
I have also crashed my plane several time at the beginning and never gave up,and also u plz never give up.
Once u started something then don;t leave it till it completion what is the matter may be.

If u think it is repairable then repair it .Use another propeller .Use some glue or patch to repair fuselage and also post some pic of ur crashed plane.
