Hello friends,

This is a plane which i have been working since quite sometime although only 40% work done.... Admins to decide whether it qualifies for Sweepstakes or not.

Actually my office work does not permit me to put in much time in hobby so my models take long long time... 8-)

> Thermacol wings 36" span 6"chord coated with brown paper & fevicole with a bamboo spar !! ( rock solid now )
> Wings having 2 Degree dihedral
> tail made of thermacol 4mm sheet covered with brown paper ( its is a bit small then the convention of 20% of wing area infact 18%) so might redo the tail section
> Did put the tail control surfaces yesterday.... its way too tail heavy with 3S 500mah battery @ nose
> motor mount fixed @ height for 5x3 prop, 10 amp ESC
> Need to figure out a way to fix wings ( i personally do not like rubber bands !!)
> Ailerons need to be made and fixed in wings.... may be i will use coro sheet.

Plane designing - Basic knowledge gained via reading and doubts cleared from Gusty Boss  and size of foam sheet & carbon boom available.

Maiden flight will tell if design and make is OK !! Arvind will help me on this... i am still on learning curve....( dont see it rising!!)

Need to figure out a way to fix wings ( i personally do not like rubber bands !!)

Saurabh

1. Since yours is a boom design, you could move the boom about (increase reduce length of the boom) to get the right CG.

2. Rubber Bands are good, unlike dowel and wingbolt which anchors the wing are only three points (and therefore most stressed). esp for a high winger the force of the lifting load is evenly spread with Rubber Bands, some of the operational UAVs use rubber band equivalent. i suggest go with the rubber bands
Gusty's Hangar and Introduction.

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

Thanks Arvind & Gusty boss,

Will keep your advice in mind regarding the boom length and rubber bands.... But I have my own doubts if i would be able to complete even one before 8th March.  :banghead:
Too  busy in my job change and shifting....

I am yet to buy a weighing scale........but i make it the max lightest i can.....this motor setup gives me enough thrust for a 250 to 300 gram auw
