i would like to see a write up on brushed and brushless motors and respective esc. its advantages etc. since im a beginer here even i dont have good knowledge on these topics.

Great friend..its a great effort to give a better knowlede about battery motor relation ships...but with a little doubt..is there any need to go to this extreme to geat a perfectly working model? we know there must be a burning theory behind every stuff.by understanding the OHM's law, all we know amperage in a circuit automatically increases as the voltage increases.so here we need only one thing.we need a perfectly balanced system of motor and battery, for optimum performance of the craft, by avoiding burning out the motor and battery pack..we can simply overcome this phenomena by adding a controller circuits in between battery and load. a simple circuit wired around famous IC 555, wedded with a mosfet will clear all the probs related to this matter.have a nice flying

I want to understand ESC compatibulity i.e. which ESC is suitable for a specific motor. It is said here that ESC should be rated higher Amp than motor rating  :headscratch: but how much higher?

I am struggling with burning of ESC's. In my belt CP Heli, its default ESC was a 25 A ESC which burnt just after its first flight. I purchased a new HK ESC with 30 A rating. I managed to took it off for second time yesterday and I found fragrance and fumes :banghead: of buring ESC again.

Please advice if 25 and 30 A are so sensitive for Esky Belt CP then what should be the ideal rating for an ESC for this heli ?

How does it affect the setup if I go for a higher Amp ESC's say 40A of 70A?

There is absolutely no harm if the ESC rating is much higher than needed. The only penalty is weight and cost. The first,slight, the second, much more!

if u now have burned 2 esc i would guess something is wrong like a binding servo or similar. do u bang on the lipo and still have blades in blade holder?

it is sometimes common that people  do not take blades out of blade support for transport before they connect battery and cyclic servos are

stalling and bec in  esc is burning up

No its not the case, infact one of my friend told me that the motor installed in this helli require a better rated ESC like 40Amp or so, now upgrading to 40Amp lets see. Btw Happy New year and thanks for your kind reply.  :thumbsup:

Unless your making a RC airplane that doesnt have throttle control you wont need it. But throttle is the basic control fucntion of anything RC.
ESC(electronic speed control) that is used to control brushless motors is used for airplanes. If you are going to used a brushed motor then brushed motor controllers are also available. There are two benefits to a ESC. It gives throttle control, and ones with a built in BEC or UBEC also eliminates the need of having a separate battery for your receiver. If your making a free flight powered model you wont need this. Though if your making a 2 channel RC plane or 3 Channel plane then the first channel itself should be throttle, provided by the speed controller :). So my answer would be yes if you are building a 2 channel rc plane or more.
Build planes like feathers rather than tanks, both handle bullets equally well.

hi rachit, welcome to rc India... please before asking anymore, go through online resources and read up.. also visit the rc India gems page.... most of the questions which newbies have  already been answered.. all you gotta do is find them...
a speed controller is a very important part in hobby grade rc. it takes signals from the receiver and controls the motor speed accordingly. in some cases, it also powers the servos and other electronics on the plane, by diverting a small amount of power from the battery to these components

you will understand more about this as you delve deeper into this hobby...
