how to make disel fuel any idea of the composition??????????????

sushil_anand

Simple. 33-40% Aether Solven, 35% kerosene, rest castor oil or SAE 60 mineral oil.

This is what we used succesfully in the "good old days"- circa mid 50s!

And I have always wondered why it was called diesel :headscratch:

The main fuel is ATF or Kerosene; it is not diesel at all. The combustion type of this kind engine is similar as diesel engine, no spark plug or glow plug, just piston and counter piston; so many people call them diesel engine. More information about diesel fuel available at this website: http://www3.bc.sympatico.ca/dieselcombat/diesel_fuel.htm

Compression ignition , is that why ?

They call it Diesel Fuel maybe because of this :-

" Kerosene is actually a refined form of the diesel fuel used in road vehicles, and has very similar ignition and combustion properties. In fact, road diesel fuel can be quite successfully used as the base fuel in model diesels. "

Right augustinev, compression ignition just as diesel engine. But why people call it diesel fuel I am not sure, for example we say glow fuel because that fuel used in glow type engines but proper name of that fuel is nitro fuel if I am not wrong.

AEROVISHWA

for easy understanding ..........

regular composition of a diesel fuel is ( 1:1:1 for ether kerosene caster)

kerosene has high ingnition temp..... hence a highly volatile substance ( ether is used ) to reduce the temperature for ignition

as the mixture is compressed between the piston and the contra piston ether burns and ignites kerosene for power....

if you need more power in the diesel engine ( as you add NITROMETHANE in glow engines) reduce the quantity of ether to 20 %

if you want a easy starting engine use the mixture ( 1:1:2 for castor oil , kerosene and ether)
more or less quantity of ether or castor than the ratio mentioned above will damage your engine

TRY NOT USING A STARTER TO START THE ENGINE
