First of all, my experience is that Dubai has some really great prices.  In addition to some established shops, there are some good quality Chinese beginner-type helis also.

From what I understand, you are just starting in the hobby.  In that case, the ESky LAMA V4's are very good helis.  You cannot fly them in wind, but you can fly them on calm days or indoors all the time.  For the first few flights (till you get your orientation), pick a large room with out any furniture and other hindrances.

You should be able to pick them up from Dubai for about INR 4K, including radio etc.  Ask your friend to pick up some spare blades, a main-shaft and a battery; if your budget permits.

If you feel this is too much of a beginner setup, then you may need to move upto something like the Blade helis or Align ones, but you should try them only if you are confident on the simulator and indoor helis like the Lama.

The big name shops in Dubai are HobbyCenter and UltimateHeli.  They carry brand names, and prices would be proportional.  I do not know the current prices there, but should be comparable to what you see on the US and HongKong online sites.

There is a whole Chinese market, I would recommend your friend visting that.  My brother got some good deals there couple of weeks ago.

Thank u for the info but wht abt the "Toy ban " in India.Thats why i was asking for a non-chinese.

Is there any???pls also mention the website.

Thanks again

I don't think bringing one or two kits with you would cause any issues with the toy ban.  I have had friends carry stuff into India after the ban came into being.  Most of the time, customs folks do not even bother to open the luggage.

The main hobby shops in Dubai are not very keen about their web sites, so trying to ascertain prices etc on the web would be a waste of time.  One has to visit the stores in person.

Went by DragonMart in Dubai yesterday, and you are right Joe, shop EAA09 had a selection of RTF indoor helis at good prices.  The only problem is that the dude seems to have two jobs, since he only opens the shop after 5pm  ;D

EAA18 is another good shop, with many larger balsa kits (40 size and higher) in additional to small helis.

I was trying to get a Calmato Sport 40 low wing for someone, but that was out of stock in EAA18  :(

Anwar I can give you his number via PM if you need to contact him. His off roaders are also priced well
I bought  a WALKERA co-axail from the EAA18 place. I wish i knew some Chinese to strike a deal for a speed boat... he showed some figures on a calculator and I punched in my last price and looking at it he fainted  :D
anyways...!
