do you think the build is so sweet for a beginer ;)

vinay

:giggle: No Not at all, Its a crazy Torque drive, you land a lil hard and it breaks the umbrella gears, and u will loose the control of the tail. NO NO for a beginner. If I was in your place I would have ordered a HK 450 MT (around 40 USD + shipping), transferred all the Align electronics to that and learnt on that first, till I atleast learnt Forward flight.

Anyway, the Yummy was for the Align Quality  ;)

Anyways all the best, May God bless you with 0 crashes!

Just leave the tail blades liberally loose (so that they can fall on their own weight), and it significantly reduces the risk of torque tube gears breaking on tail impacts.  Other also extend the vertical tail fin with contraptions like thick piano wires, so that the chances of the tail blades hitting the ground are minimized.

I had added an extra tail support to minimize tail blade touch to the ground  ;)

finished the tail assembley.loctited  everything.any idea how to remove the feathering shaft to put some grease on it :help:

anwar

You will need to use 2 hex/allen drivers, and hold it together from both sides :)

If u still feel its tight (loctited), dont bother opening it further until u apply slight heat on the screws using a soldering gun to loosen the loctite.

anwar

Most importantly, remember to tighten it well using two drivers and some blue loctite, otherwise you end up with this (around 0:30)  ;)

santosh.. this is a great heli.. if you are a beginner try using the training set for few flight and yes the risk of stripping the TT gears are high but again you will be really happy with this once you learn to fly if properly... i have sent a set of CD's to ANTA on the forum on setting up a align heli... if possible try to get a copy of this and this might help you on the TX settings...

santhosh

hai all
just finished my heli today,i was able to hover it nicely.when i first tried two days back the tail was turning to one side always,it took two days to find out the cause, the rudder and the gyro direction was reversed.now its ok,the next problem i faced after correcting the tail issue , the heli is lifting only around 3/4 of throttle ,played with pitch curves still its lifting around half throttle,so  all the heli gurus  here i need your help,no idea whether to play with the head speed or pitch.thanks a ton for sujjju for the setup cd and anwar bhai for the valuable tips in setting the tail linkage ...see the pics and videos
