After seeing the beautiful rc kites at www.goflykite.com of singapore and videos of night flying





I very much wanted to purchase one. But the price was almost 410SGD plus shipping was too much to pay for a kite.
While going through the site i decided to build the kite on my own
the frame is the result of that it just needs to be covered with material out of which umberella's are made.
It is a delta wing kite flying on elevons.

Super!! What size CF rods are they, looks like 2mm it would be very helpful if you can post close-up of joints. PFA image

The CF rods are all 1.5mm as i had those lying around to make pushrods for my foamies the joints are just thread with CA
the hinges for the elevator are again CF rod with 3mmOD and 2mm ID. i have used 3mm rod in the moddle to give it strength
and avoid flex
the power will be provided by Turnigy 2730 Brushless Motor 1500kv with 7060 Prop

i was give a idea by friend to use Aquarium airpipe connectors to make the frame they have an ID of 3MM
will try it for my next big kite

Hi Guys

Found out the Aquarium airpipe connectors they fit the 3MM CF rod perfectly, so no more thread and CA for fixing the joints
you get three types the T shape the L shape and the Cross, looking forward to seeing more Rc Kite builds.

Finally completed the rc kite and did the maiden. there was a lot of flex bcoz of the 1.5mm Cf rods
i will now put a 5mm CF tube in the middle as fuse to counter the flex and let you know how it went

I have started building a new kite with 3mm CF Rod as center frame and 2.5mm CF for the
elevons and Front bumper . it will be twice the size of the prevoius build,

My new kite is ready it is 3MM centre frame and 2.5mm elevons and bumper, 2mm vertical stabalizer
I have used Aquarium airline connectors and made the kite completely flat used heat gun to bend the connectors to
desired angles.
