I know there are fans for both.I was NOT a fan of naze32 till yesterday. But now I am a big fan of NAZE 32 and story is as follows,

I came to this hobby by accident.
I bought a Hubsan from ebay,I crashed it in one week. But I got so much addicted to flying that , I bought my second hubsan(from RC Dhamaka) in one week. Then 3rd Hubsan in next month(again, from RC Dhamaka). I also bought innumerable number of accessories like, props,Lipos, and prop guards.

In short I learned the basics. Then I bought a JJRC H8C.It flies well ,but its bad link is -it's motor.I bought sapre motors.Literally I spent "some money " on learning.

Then by accident I came to know about "RC India " and from there ,I learnt that I could have made made two quads, out the money I spent till then.

Now coming to the point,I shortlisted for a small size ,as was planning indoor flying and I never had plans for camera stuff, despite ,the negative feedback for the small size- being not fit for beginners.I eventually ended up with 250 size.

Then comes the question of FC,the internet world is really split here, say 50;50 for naze32vs CC3D. Considering the ease of use of Openpilot Ground station ,I went for CC3D (from Quadkopters) ,and successfully built mine.It flew really stable. But tuning PID ,DID TAKE LOT OF TIME.

Then I bought a CC3D evo from RC Dhamaka and a NAZE 32 acro from hobbysea for next project.I tried naze 32 ,but clean flight or baseflight is no way close to Ground Station. So finally ,completed using CC3D evo.The time for tuning PID was,again- a killer. :banghead:
(I even burned one esc and rx ,during my attempts with NAZE 32)

But my mind kept ,saying "try naze 32" and know the "locked in feeling of naze 32" ;D

So finally I removed cc3d and placed naze 32 on board ,did some exhaustive reading and youtube watching, and I finally managed to fly= THE RESULT IS SO ENCOURAGING THAT I FELT LIKE SHARING.EVEN THE MAIDEN FLIGHT WAS STABLE LIKE  A ROCK
and,now I know,what they call the "locked in feeling " :)

Glad to hear that sir...

Are you having Naze 32 acro or 10dof ? if it is a basic board (naze 32 acro), i would say, it doesn't differ much in performance with a CC3D (Hardware part is exactly alike !) .
If you where to try out the clean flight or base flight firmware performance, that can be done with CC3D itself .

And what went wrong with receiver and ESC ? let see whether it can be repaired

Its acro only, may be I should try cc3d with cleanflight, thanks sooraj for the input. So cleanflight might be the reason for the out of the box clean experience, will try and confirm.
regarding the burnt rx ,I checked polarity,it was correct ,don't know what went wrong.

sooraj.palakkad

Dont worry, receiver can be fixed ...
I don't think clean flight provides out of box perfect flight !!! , there too little tuning is required...

+1 to sooraj, Flown both both are as good, 10dof i dunno since haven't flown one
Gusty's Hangar and Introduction.

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

I flashed cleanflight on to a cc3d ,yes its cleanflight the reason for out of the box experience.
I will say "zero tuning " needed in my case,no oscillations at all.

OpenPilot vs clean flight ?

and naze32 vs cc3d ?

The pros and cons pls.....! I know there's a lot of info on the net but asking u people would make things more clear to me :)
So please spare some minutes :D

For simplicity cant beat the new CC3D revo,  with ability to add GPS later it rapes the Naze's ............. Muttonhole. http://www.banggood.com/OpenPilot-CC3D-Revolution-Revo-10DOF-STM32F4-Flight-Controller-Staight-Pin-p-1000068.html?p=2O21111526893201504H I use on all four of my F330 builds.
You could also be consider KK2 - damned fine board as well

happy flying :-)

I have worked on kk 2.1.5 :)
It is easier to set up kk 2.1.5...And the best part is that its having display :D which makes setting of that board a lot easier.

I had the hard case on my first S500, with plug in unit for changing. Got fed up with that so switched to this version http://www.banggood.com/KK2_1_5-KK21EVO-Flight-Controller-With-Large-LCD-Second-MPU-p-945686.html?p=2O21111526893201504H

The KK2 as good as it gets if just  want to get in the damned air

work fine and i flash it with 1.18pro1 for KK2.1.5 so no complaints.    with airmail only took 6 days

The kk 2.1.5 is not even comparable to the Naze32. Yes, the LCD screen makes setup easy but in terms of hardware, firmware and flight performance the Naze is in a completely different league. The Naze has an STM32F103 over the 8-bit ATmega of the kk.

I'm planning to buy a CC3D Revo clone in a few months when the Raceflight firmware for it is more stable. It has an STM32F4 processor that is quite a bit more powerful than F1 or F3 boards out right now. Right now, a Naze32 with Betaflight is more than enough for most mini quad pilots, especially since you won't need GPS on a mini quad.

MUTTONHOLE

Agree. Simply saying as an (almost) plug n play the KK" is terrific

whats your take on CC3D  vs NAZE32
and
Cleanflight vs Openflight

Please do comment :)

SK1701 agreed KK2.1.5 is not comparable to CC3D and Naze32. But still i would recommend all the beginners to start with it :)  (Because of the ease of setting it up and the Display)

I can't really say since the only firmware I've run on my Naze is Betaflight
