So I have noticed that a lot of posts on RCI contain long, ugly hyperlinks like this:
http://www.rcindia.org/multirotors/my-micro-quadcopter-build/msg225282/#msg225282

Or sometimes even worse. This bothers me more than it should so I thought I ought to share this simple tip to make your links look like this.
This is nothing but bulletin board code, which you can learn more about on the relevant RCIndia help page

Basically, what you need to do is copy the link you want to embed (Ctrl-C/Cmd-C). While posting, start with the tag url= and paste your link. Close it with another square bracket and the type the words you want to make into a hyperlink. After the words, close the tag with [/url]. Your links should look like this:
url=yoururlhere] Word to embed link [/url. I have omitted the square brackets since what I type will then be perceived as a hyperlink by the software. You will need to include them. You can use the preview feature to check that your link has been embedded successfully.

Also, you can embed YouTube videos in your post by just removing the s from https at the beginning of the link. This should save the mods some editing. I hope these tips have been helpful and now we see some neater posts on RCI

No need to do anything for Youtube URLs. With a recent change, all URLs including shortened youtu.be ones work fine without any manual tweaks.
