Probably most people might knew my face already.
This is officially me on few occasions.
The third one was with my first successful model from makezine-towel.
i still love this model and havent scrapped it so far.
i flew it with my friend (handle name margi,currently inactive for a couple of months) this was most amazing moment in my life to see my creation to fly.

Wow.
Didn't remember Manali being like this in July.
Didn't know that snowmobiles are so big.
Reminds me of 3 years ago, when we were guests of the High Altitude Warfare School in Gulmarg.
It is so tough you cant even walk.
Snow drifts on the side of huts up to the top of the windows, ie, about 8-10ft!
All the Officers and Jawans move about on skis as if it is the most natural thing to do.
We civilians cannot even imagine unless we get a chance to see.

You should try to use this forum to attract youngsters to the Army like Gusty's pitch for the Air Force

Yes Iyer Sir we were lucky to have seen the left over snow of the season which should have melted away at this time of the year. Moreover we were lucky to have seen it in clear weather when it should have been raining and cloudy that too without getting stuck in nasty traffic jams due to land slides and blocked roads.

I always thought Gusty's pitch was equally good enough for all forces.

May be more so because I was always an Air Force aspirant who in spite of clearing PABT and medicals had to join ground forces to honor the wishes of my non-fauji dad.  ;)

Like in Air force not all are in flying, Army too has its own share of tough life in some parts, though it has its own charm and glamour and its a good life in its own ways. I believe Instead of anyone canvasing for it, would be always better that a really motivated aspirant who is well informed through first hand interaction with forces guys who has it in him who is willing to go through with it volunteers for it.

For the motivated aspirants, SSB interview selection after the preliminary exams does an accurate assessment in identifying the one who actually has it in him for this glorious life. Like I was advised when I went through with it, it would be best if one goes through with it without any coaching and by being yourself. Only those who gets selected has those temperament and qualities naturally and really has it in him for this glorious service. One who does not make it are those who will not be satisfied with this different lifestyle because of their nature and they will be better off and successful pursuing a different career for themselves.

Do you have it in you advertisement does a good job of attracting youngsters. Selection process does an excellent job of identifying and screening those who actually have it in him. unless he is a volunteer by personal motivation, he is better of pursuing a different career for himself.  

I am not going to force even my son if he does not volunteers himself let alone pitching for anyone else.  ;D

No coaching is the essence of it.  Once coached one tends to falter when the crunch time comes.  Even my Son cleared the SSB in the first hit.  Though unlike me who wears the Blues.... he will soon be wearing the OGs.... All I can say is.... this is the BEST like one can have and can safely say to himself that he did the best at places where he was required to give it all.

OK.... Sundaram Sir.... I cleared my SSB in 1987 and wore my wings in Dec 1988.  Been with the OGs all my life and have actually braved most of the cold and snow the OGs bear as all in the days job.

Best wishes to all the young Men and Women in Uniform and to the ones aspiring to join in.
