Looks like an actuator. Build it yourself from some thin copper wire and magnets. You will find more info than you can take at rcgroups micro forum.

Just a doubt. Can't we use those nicely wound coils in loud speakers, very very cheap and easily available. Can those be used to construct some home made actuators??  ???

They are too low resistance and usually heavy. Built to be much stronger than needed in this application.

My personal experience with MICRO models was not very encouraging. The Micro actuators are like 70 - 100 ohm rage, 0.2 to 0.8 gms weight and a max torque of 0.5 to 1.5gm cm.
While a smallest 2.7 grms servo gives 100 gm cm torque.

The motors are generally pager motors with gear. again max 20 - 30 grams thrust. Of course you have cheap 2, 5, 10  gram brushless ones now.
I did some experiments with RFFS receiver and actuators, but never flew a model to my satisfaction. My experience that it requires much more precision and patience than 6- 20 OZ models.
