We have a case of a Turnigy Accucel charger's LCD display showing garbled characters when the balance connector of a lipo is connected. This happens occasionally, and can be cursed just by powering the charger off and on again.
Anyone (especially folks who do electronics for their day jobs) seen this before ? Beginning to wonder if this is some kind of grounding issue, or capacitors acting up ?

Maybe it has been! Break a coconut ;D
I guess Anwar sir wanted to say,"has been cured".Interesting typo :giggle:
You're guessing, I am sure.
oh yeah.I go overboard with a word at times.....
Could be anything - bad capacitor, EMI from unshielded coils, faulty FETs to even Dry Soldering. If pressing the LCD cures it without reboot, change the LCD. Its a standard 16x2 Hitachi LCD available for :Rs: 150 locally.
Automatic spell checking can be a bane or a boon ;D

I find the Spell checkers in browsers are a bit dumb than that in Office Suites. They dont give ranking based on context/subject predicate and just on popularity of the world, like the Nokia T9 dictionary. So at times you get similar looking wrong word as correction option - and you click it!
i had an issue with may80w where the leds for half the screen is not functioning
How was it fixed ?
It is like the ones on the calc when is cell is low ?
Check/Replace your power supply/cable.
Not power supply, tried with a 5A and a 10A one. And this is an Accucel 8, not Accucel 6.
