Title: BATTERY FUSED?
Post by: Fw190 on September 17, 2012, 02:33:15 PM
Hello, my battery terminals accidently touched while soldering with my ESC. before soldering it showed a voltage of 11.14 volts, now after the incident it shows 0.01 volts!. The battery had become warm, and now on connecting it with the charger all 3 cell lights are flashing red.
Plz advise if it has been damaged beyond any used or if can be charged back. It is a brand new Zippy Flightmax 2200 mah 20C battery. What to do?

Looks like the internals were shorted and the terminals of the battery may be melted(inside the pack).

It happens in a second and terminals melt. It happened on my very first battery :) I tried opening it, soldering it, everything. Finally after wasting more time then the battery was worth, I threw it away :)

Have you check each cell voltage ? Does any of the cell puffed ? You have to charge with any mobile charger each cell to build up voltage.

Hey fellas I got one problem,
I recently bought a brand new ZOP Li-Po 2200mAh battery. Then while connecting it to one of the ESCs, +ve and -ve connectors touched each other for a fraction of second. I got a spark. Now, battery is totally discharged it gives 0V in multimeter. Is there any hope remains that this battery can be recovered..??
Waiting for your replies, guys..!!
Please do reply..

Can you do 1 thing? can you use a multimeter and measure individual voltage of the cells using the balance plug? If it shows 0 for one of the cell and more voltage on the other , it looks like one of the terminals melted.  Either way, Nothing much you can do on such things unless the problem is simple. Unless you have extremely good soldering skills. I dont recommend soldering.
