I had forgot to disconnect my lipo from the other electronics of my plane. And now after one day it is not getting charged.what's wrong??has the battery got overdischarged??

sunk?

hi mate.
it sounds like it is over discharged.
do you have a 'proper charger.......like emax or such.......these can some times be saved.
have a meter and measure the each cell volts, need to be min 3v

Firstly charge with 1C and till volt/cell > 3.2Volt, connect it with your balance charger. Otherwise your balance charger may display ERROR.

Dont PANIC, if this is first time, it can be saved totally.

yes sir..this is the first time something like this has happened and i am a bit worried..and yes my charger is showing some sort of error..i do not know what that means. the green LED that used to glow while charging the battery and used to go off once the charging was complete is now keeping on blinking everytime i am trying to charge the lipo with it..

i purchased the turnigy charger following this thread..please have a look.

hi mate.
you will need a 'proper' charger like emax to repair this battery.

what is "charging with 1C"??how is it done??

CrazyPilot

When you fly electric, fly clean, fly quiet, and fly safe!

hi guys.
as said above it needs the emax type charger as you can set the charge rate and choose the battery type. that is only a bigger version of the basic RTF supplied charger.

you need one like this
with the same variables

@anwar sir-link not working...

KALYANPRODHAN

Very simple. 1C means the average Charging (or discharging) current capacity that make the full charge( or discharge) in one hour the battery from No Charge( or Full Charge).
A 2200mAH batt's 1C Capacity is 2.2A, 1300mAh battery's 1C capacity is 1.3A.

Forget everything. You have to make live each cell to raise potential >3.2 Volt, thats it.

Now, just take a cell phone charger.
Take wires out from DC +ve and -ve. Use single strand wire.
Check the polarity and mark +ve and -ve of the charger output.
Connect +ve to red and - to next wire of charging connector. Use single strand telephone / Lan wire. You may also use Pin/Nail but as they are naked, risky.
Make on the charger and charge the first cell. Measure the voltage till it shows 3.2+ voltage. Better wait till 3.5 volt. when the potential increases, the cell survive and will not show any error.

Now remove -ve wire from the charging connector and insert +ve wire.
Insert -ve wire adjescent to the +ve wire (Not the red or that direction). You will find that actually you shifted the +ve and -ve terminals towards -ve (Black wire).
Again charge till the voltage raise.

Now follow the same precedure till you reach at negative.

If your battery pack is 2S (2 cells in series) only one shifting is required and if 3S two shifting be required.

When each cell got potential, the error mark will disappear.

Hope I explain. If required, I will post the schematics.

Also, you can charge from a laptop adaptor (15-22V anyone) and a 12 Volt lamp or resistance in seeries directly from +ve and -ve terminals of the pack if the battery is 2S or 3S.

Thanks

thanks all...getting a new charger as recommended by sunk or crazy pilot will take some time...i am badly missing my flying sessions..:-I
kalyan sir, i will try your method tomorrow itself and hope it works out...otherwise will have to wait....:-(

tatum012

kalyan sir, thank you very very much...your method really worked...flew today after a really long time..thank you once again..
but theres a little problem..although the error on the charger has vanished after the 1c charging..the charger is not indicating 'full charge' no matter for how long i am charging the lipo..is it the problem of the charger or battery???
and the lipo is not storing the charge for long..means the lipo is getting discharged automatically if i am leaving it dormant for 8-10 hours..and then again on connecting it to the lipo charger the error again shows..
to sum up, i am having to charge the lipo manually (1c charging) everytime and then through the lipo balanced charger and then immediately go for flying..

sunk?

hi mate.
this is because it was discharged too much . the battery is now finished realy...
google lipo battery care........
