Title: Hyperion EOS 720i charger or Icharger
Post by: Ajay JM on January 23, 2011, 10:49:24 AM
My thunder AC6 might die any time from static attack.  All I did was check the balancing while charging. On pressing the touch button, it got hit by static and reset itself. From then on it's behaving strange. After about 5 minutes of charging, it gets really hot as if it's gonna burn itself and the lcd display shows up like blotted ink on paper.Any suggestions?

Meanwhile, also thinking of getting a better charger. The Hyperion EOS 720i is 90W(on AC) and 20A max, but at $160. Is it really worth it or should I just try stay happy with something cheaper like iCharger 208B 350W 8s Balance/Charger from hobbyking for $126?

Bump O' Bump

Vinay you there? Saw your post in wattflyer detailing you had the same issue. Did you fix it or went the PC SMPS way?

Googled and saw that reports are rather global with AC6 on grounding issues.

:help:

Icharger or Hyperion
Again..

If you are in India, you can look at

I have purchased from him, a good seller.

Currently in US Kalyan. Also, would prefer going for an 80/90W charger.

Hence thinking the Icharger/Hyperion route.

Thanks for the tip anyway :)

Prefer one with an internal power supply  :)

I prefer separate 12 Volt and charger so that in field, Exhausted battery can be charged from Car Battery (12Volt) outlet, while second set can be used for flying at the same time.
You can check the following, A little bit costly but possibly mail rebate is available.

Had to do the V5 firmware update to get it detected by the PC control suite.

Did that just now and plugged in everything.

All I gotta say is Wow! Clayboy, like you said config is much easy via the PC.
A truly versatile charger. 5 stars and the Sun from me!!
