hi guys, i have a 3s,2200mah lipo battery,i have used it a couple of times before.... but its been 1 and half month that i have left it with out using now.... whats the problem is... it became fluffy from out side, its kida sponge feel when i touch it now and also a bit swollen.... is it ok to use it now..... or would there be any problem with it...???:headscratch: :help:

it depends on how much it is puffed. i have used slightly puffed (very slightly) puffed lipos without any issue. but there's always going to be a slight risk. how is the charge on the cells? are they still balanced? what voltage did you store them on?

i did't have time to check the levels of my battery pack when i left it unused..... :P, its about 60-70% on its charge levels at that moment......

well if you stored it at storage voltage (which is around 3.8v per cell) then you should be able to store it for even a year.
are they turnigys, by any chance?

you can still use it, but be sure to monitor it properly. if it starts puffing up more then stop using it :)

Never store lipos when they are charged/partially discharged!
I once charged up a lipo to go fly, then didn't get time for the next 1.5 months, had a nice poori lipo!

Can you take a side view of the lipo to check the puffing extent?
Little puffing can be used (not really recommended) discharge and charge it while monitoring and see if the swelling increases (PS: do this in a nice big pot in the balcony/near a window with sand nearby just in case)

you have to store a lipo partially discharged. I would not recommend storing it at anything below 3.7 volts per cell

I meant don't store them at 70-80%!

Most charges have a "Storage" mode where they charge/discharge the cell to 3.85v (~50%)
