hmmm....but wouldnt transporting be dangerous too?

vineet

its not a nuclear bomb yar , just discharge it and it will travl world

vikalp11

how to discharge it? use it for flying?
new to all these....dont know much abt it.

vineet

not dont do that, try your balance charger it has an discharge option(keep the battery some where safe ), or just put an led bulb or brushed motor running with that battery , this will dead your battery and can be saftly disposed off .

vikalp11

Those are the digital chargers, right?
The normal chargers dont have such an option.

aditya

yaa, low price chargers don,t have option of discharge....
u can discharge with the help of brushed motor......

Am I reading it correctly? Pinned lipo and charging? Are you guys out of your minds? Do you guys even know what you are doing? You guys are unbelievable.... It seems you got some heavy insurance on your houses...
Cheers !!!

Hi Vineet,

Its working fine and now not puffing at all, and even not faced any Heat Problem when I charged it,
I closely monitored it charging time/Discharget time/heat etc,

Pinned doesnt mean I pinned it from one side and that pin come from another side.

Saurabh : Atleast we have to try one, I put that battry so many day outside of home, and done test outside.
--------  also purcased LiPo charging Bag, when I started to keep it in home.

Not only LiPo is the only reason for insurance,Nitro Fule is also flamable, but we keet it in home. and somany other thing also.

So Please stop Surprising..

I don't think Saurabh's reply was " rude" by any means. If anything, it showed concern. When you say " pinned", it leads us to assume that the cell was punctured in some way or the other. A punctured cell is extremely unsafe. I personally would get rid of it.

Oh! may be I missunderstood, however I have not seen any blog who pinned/punctured LiPo cells, when it puffed. (only pinned outer plastic cover, thats it)

though it's dangerous and very risky but possible, Lipos are becoming so cheap these days, it's not worth taking the risk. I myself won't do this and won't suggest any body to do this. I am posting video for information purpose

Confused... what does "pinned" mean ?  Punctured the one cell that was bloating up ?

For me Pinned mean the same thing as shown in video, make a little hole in battry cover (sliver one) and then let liquid come out, and then close that hole with clue of any good quality plastic sticker.

I have done the same thing as video shown,

There is a huge distinction in the video, and what you described... in the video, "air" is let out, not "liquids".  In the video, it says "if liquids come out, bin the battery".

In any case, I would urge everyone to not take risks by puncturing lipo cells.  That said, I have personally taken out bad cells from lipos (making a 3s lipo into 2s, by removing one puffed cell, then re-soldering the connectors appropriately).  That is a much more manageable solution (assuming you are careful, and sort of know what you are doing in terms of soldering etc).

Hi All,

Finally I asked owner of this Youtube Video, and this is helpfull for all for us.

GaryGraham66 has replied to your comment on Lipo battery repair:

@gauravbisht2000 If it is still working just use it mate. I still use the ones I repaired years ago, I only lost a few due to massive crash damage.
