Hi,
I have new LiPo battery. I connected it to low LiPo sensor and nothing showed up, so I connected to IMAX B3 Pro compact charger and it is showing Cell 1 in Red.
I kept it for charging for 4 hours and still it is showing Cell 1 Red. Is the battery dead, how can I check?

Battery is 735 V,1500 mah, 2 cell.

Thanks,
Pradish

Thanks Anwar, I had read few post but dint find it fully explaining my situation. I am beginner in this hobby so dont have much experince and hardware too. This is my first build. I left the LiPO to charge yesterday for about 5 to 6 hours and the Cell 1 still shows Red. Cell 2 is green. The low LiPo sensore doesnt even turn ON when connected. I have checked that i am connecting the plug in correct polarity to low LiPo sensor. I dont have any other charger or LiPO sensor to double check. Should i send the batt and sensor back to shop i purchased. Note, the LiPO is never used and first time i tried to connect. Should the LiPo becomes tad bit hot while charging? Coz mine is not even becoming hot.

LiPo's never gets hot while charging.
If you have access to a multimeter, Check the voltage on each individual cell.
If you find voltage on any cell to be less than 3 volts, then i have a bad news for you. That cell is permanently damaged. Making the complete LiPo unusable.
If you haven't used it at all, then most likely you received a damaged LiPo.
The damaged cell usually gets a little puffed within hours of getting into low voltage (<3volts).
Is it puffed now? If yes, then did you received it in puffed state?

Lack of research does not goes well with this hobby.
But then we all learn from our mistakes, Isn't it?

Same as Bhavesh said, plus, there is a chance that your charger might been faulty.
check the cell voltage of each cell with multimeter and that gives the actual value instead of a charger.
if the cell voltage is above 3v then chances are that the charge fails to detect the voltage and has overcharged thus making it hot. Lipos don't get hot normally while charging in the recommended C capacity.

I went to RoboSoft with the LiPO for testing. This is not the place where i purchased from but they are near to my home. They helped test the LiPo and confirmed both cells are dead. I will be returning this LiPo, its never been used and is new out of the box.

you can still save this battery..if you have a professional battery charger..balance charge it..if that doesn't work, use the nimh mode and charge this battery for sometime..it may revive the battery..

a professional battery charger is must and probably this is the only reason you have lost that cell..

let me know if this works..

Thanks Atul. I am begineer to this hobby. Does IMAX B3 pro charge count as professional charger and how long would you suggest to charge the LiPo?

Guys, a word of advice.
Stay away from this so called 'Reviving LiPo's Techniques"

Why? Well, It's dangerous and Useless

Why Dangerous?
Once a cell gets damaged, it's most likely going to get puffed which makes that cell unstable and if continue to use it by trying to revive it, it may further get more unstable and it's asking for trouble.
An unstable cell might burst into flames while Charging or while flying, etc since you would already be putting stress on an already unstable cell.

Why Useless?
A revived cell will never hold the same type of voltage capacity anymore. So let's say that you have s 3 cell LiPo and 1 of it's cell got damaged and you revived it. You'll notice that the max voltage that it gets charged to will usually be a lot lesser than the other cells. Apart from that, this cell will show huge voltage sag and will be the first to get discharged. Now, because of all these things, the overall performance of LiPo's gets degrades substantially.

Example: A LiPo lasting for 10 mins will last 2 mins (Because of the revived cell getting into Love Voltage due:
1) Not able to get 100% charged.
2) Huge voltage sag

Prevention is a lot better than Cure.
Take a lesson from it, always use a LiPo alarm and you should be good

yes you can use imax..well I read later that both the cells are dead..

its best to return this battery..

Did the seller take back the damaged lipo?
