I have ordered an EMAX CF2822 1200 kv motor along with a 20 Amp Red Brick ESC for my first plane. However, I have come across a slight problem. I have bought a WolfPack White 900 mAh 3S 25 C battery to use with this. However this battery comes with a JST connector and 22 AWG wires for discharge. This battery should be able to discharge 0.9 * 25 = 22.5 Amps. However, I am concerned since I have read that 22 AWG wire is rated for only 10 A ( http://blog.oscarliang.net/wire-awg-chart-quadcopter-rc/ ). Also, I have read that JST connectors are rated only for 5-10 Amps. My motor is expected to draw around 9 Amps max as per eCalc and the motor's max current is 16 Amps. Is this a problem? Should I solder a different connector on the battery? I was planning to put a male Deans plug on the ESC and use a female Deans to female JST adapter cable. Is this alright? I was wondering why this battery comes with such connectors when it is capable of discharging higher current than the wires and connector are rated for.

put in a deans or xt60 at battery and avoid extra connectors.

I like using XT60s but it seems that the wire is quite thin for an XT60 (22 AWG). Anyway, I will decide when the motor and ESC arrives from RCMumbai. As of now, I only have the servos and battery.

don't worry of the wire, it can hold your motor's thirst !
