Hi,

Is it possible to use a  850mAh-3Cell 11.1V 20C LiPo for transmitter?
I have a Flysky FS-T6, and there is no way for battery mod for pack, and its Eating up AA batteries like anything. A fresh set of batteries for just 2 hours of operation. so im planning to connect LIpo to the pins where the AA batteries goes.

moreover a LIPO will go good instead of NIMh as most of the electric people will already have a 3s charger for the same.
Any inputs are welcome.

Regards
Ashok.

If that LiPo fits inside the battery compartment....then you can use it...
It is always recommended to use larger LiPo that will fit inside the compartment.
Also don't forget to add a Onboard Low voltage LiPo alarm incase the battery is over discharged...

So there wont be any issues with overcurrent and stuff right?

No..there wont be any overcurrent...The Tx will consume current only when it needs it...You cannot force current through it...
To force current through it you have to increase the voltage...
With 3S there will be no problem...as Tx previously used 8 x 1.5V cells = 12V

If the battery bay is the same as the CT-6B, you can use the 1450mah tx pack that is available with adiboy. Whatever lipo you use, take care to use the ones that have a discharge rate of 1c or lower. These are lipos made specially for Txs which have very low self discharge rate. Cheers!

Bindass!

You can use the low c rating Lipos for Txs as TXs dont pull much current (as compared to motors) and you will save some dollars :D
Using a 3s lipo used to drive motors is an under utilization of the battery when fitted in TXs.

this is somethin ive been worried about, if a 20c battery is used, will it not fry the tx, and the most tx packs i see online are Nimh and not lipo, then i have to find a charger for that too. The battery bay isflat 8 battery one, not as ct 6b.

20c is 20 times capacity. Like santhosh mentioned, the battery cannot force current thru the Tx. The Tx pulls current from the battery. 20 C specifies the upper limit the battery can provide, *when asked for*. A 2.2A (2200mAh) 20 C can thus provide a burst of 2.2 * 20C = 44 A of current, beyond which it will die.

There is a flat battery also available on HK that should fit.

Here's a rule to remember:

Voltage is supplied, current is drawn.

And is it good to use a puffed 2.2mAh 20C battery on a Tx( 9XR)?

In general, it is never good to use puffy Lipos anywhere. A little bit puffiness is generally tolerable, but will always snatch your peace of mind, leaving on behind with "what if?"

As for the voltage current duality, no apparent issues.

Honestly, if you want blasts, get some firecrackers. LiPo blasts can cause serious injuries...
