Why li-po and not li-on?

most people use and suggest li-po batt. packs
why is li-on not so popularised? ??? ???

Li-on packs have higher weight than Li-Po for the equivalent capacity.. Also their discharge rates i.e. C capacity is lower.. Hence they are used in lower draw applications such as cellphones and indoor helis etc.. They are also safer i think..
