Build needs help

Hi guys, :help:
For a newbie finding the right stuff to build even an ARF is very confusing.
Which epoxy should/can one use to fix the wings and the tail feathers.
Should the control rods have a "Z" bend or a "L" bend at the servo?
How does one adjust the throws? etc. etc
The instruction mannual does not give too much information and it would be really great if we got some firsthand knowledge from the senior members on the forum.
Hope this thread doesn't seem too dumb. ;D

The z bends are easier, if you have the Z-bend tool, or if you are able to bend them manually yet properly (the length of the bend is sort of critical).  With the L bends, the ARFs I have came across always came with a plastic lock (you can see a picture here : http://www.airfieldmodels.com/information_source/model_aircraft_hardware/l-bends_and_z-bends.htm), which ensured that they do not pop off the arm. In that webpage, the plastic lock is referred to as "Quick Connector".

Deferring the epoxy and throw part to others.  I have not been careful about throw except to try to get as much as I can (without causing physical strains), and then control it using end points etc in the radio setup.

I guess what Quick snap on link which Anwar is referring for L bends are these

(They are steal for the price - 144 pcs for $5!! the best ever value for money item at HC, wish they have similar assortment for all small items)

They are much easier to manage than Z bends(though they are versatile), provided  you get matching snap on links for the rods dia.

To control the throw, you can attach the rods/quick links to the appropriate hole in the servo arms and  that on the the control horn (usually they come with 3-4 holes)

commonsense / trial error would tell which hole to use for low/high throw.

Assuming the ARF is made of Balsa, you can use so many items like Balsa Cement, 76 No CA, even slow healing Epoxy. Long back, I used to use 'Quick Fix' and 'Bon fix' for the same. For fixing wings, I guess apart from epoxy, you need Rubber bands/ Nylone Bolts, provided in the Kits. Epoxy alone may be not enough for a resonable size ARF (even tiny 24" ones)

Actually many ARFs where the wings need to be joined together just rely on epoxy alone.  The wings are shipped as separate pieces, but they are joined together with epoxy.  There are either small metal tubes or even more commonly, there are rectangular balsa sticks that are inserted to purpose built holes on the wings where they are connected to each other, and epoxy is applied to both sides of those sticks before they are inserted into the holes.

In case of removable wings, the common method is the use of metal pipes that are fixed with screws on to each wing.

PS: I am talking about joining wing pieces, not fixing them on the plane itself.  That is either done using rubber bands or various nuts/bolts (but these nuts etc are typically come fixed in the ARFs).

Guy what about the epoxy? May I have some names of brands available in India which should be used.
What about CA brands avilable in India which can be used with Balsa and which would be a good CA for Coro?
