hello all,
i have a friend who wants to build a plane for under Rs/-5K. :o
i need help from u guys from where to get so cheap equipment. Specifically i ask Mr.SAI if it is possible. He just need's electronics for his plane.
rgrds, {:)} :help:
SUMIT
I am sure an electric spad can be built well under 5k.
check this link fr more info: www.spadtothebone.com
Sai wud surely have the req electronics for this.
Cheers!!!
the mr moss will cost rs 3500 to build minus the radio system if you use cheaper parts.
What radio does your friend have? Just asking to make sure that if the electronics you buy should be compatible with the radio.

Vinay,
How is Electronics be compatible with the radio? i think tx and rx should be compatible with each other. rest other electronice like ESC, Servos, motor and battery etc can be used with any receiver.....
What if a person unknowingly thinking of using a china made car reciever with modern ESC setup and orders electronics thinking that it will work and then in for a dissoppointment? ??? Just trying to be cautious my friend. :)
Some clarity is called for on the question.
Is it that only electronics is needed, and the plane is already taken care of ? Also, when you say electronics, does that include the transmitter + receiver too ?
yes it means the complete electronics (with Tx and Rx). ;D
;D
:headscratch: ;D
If you are absolutely stuck on this budget, then it may require some creativity. Get a simple radio locally, and go to some place like HobbyCity for the rest of the items. Of course, I am assuming that you are building one of the lighter planes.
Maybe yes,you can....
The hobbycity option
1) 4 Ch Hobbyking Tx + Rx - 1 set
2) Towerpro combo ( motor, esc, prop) - 1 combo
3) 3S1P 1000mah battery - 1 number
4) 9gm servo - 3 num
price + postage (normal 20-30 days delivery) would cost around 4000/- excluding the custom....
So if the customs do not charge you anything, that leaves approx 1000 for building a foam plane, which is good enough for a 500 gm, 40 inch wingspan model.
Another option is to go for a chinese make 3ch toy plane which would be lot less and a bit smaller too...
Pankaj
Adding a lipo charger and a spare prop and wheels should cost you another 500 Bucks. Also a spare servo is recommended.
OOPs forgot the charger - so maybe add another 500 bucks for a basic charger. Spare servo is included if only elev/rudd is used.
buy a chinese heli for around Rs 600 - 700 with a IR radio .
Junk the Heli and fit the electronics to a plane like this :
http://kurukshetra.org.in/workshops/
Check out the aero modeling workshop
Max budget will be below 2 K
But the tail rotor and the main rotor move together so how can i use the tail rotor in the plane.

If you are referring to http://kurukshetra.org.in/workshops/#tabs-2 , that seems like a waste of time, effort and money :( Range of IR, size of the plane, number and type of controls etc are all issues.
I would guess the original request would be for something that is above "toy" grade; electronics that can be longer term and be put on multiple scratch built foamies of various types.
BTW, do you have any more information or pictures from the above workshop ? Things that were built, and preferably videos of them flying ?

is a good deal
but under product review it written
towerpro ESC need to be programmed
how do we program a ESC
do any specific hardware required.
Dinil - Please search the forum first, as many topics are already discussed in detail. I just found the relevant link below by searching for the words "esc program".
http://www.rcindia.org/electric-power/esc-programming/msg8000/#msg8000
The real advantage of doing a search and reading through those links is that you tend to gain a lot more knowledge faster than the pointed responses to your questions. Some times the threads are long and confusing, so feel free to ask. Doing searches puts you at a significant advantage in any case :)
Usually there is no need to program the ESC at all, the defaults work fine for the most part.
the best idea just buy a rc car made for kids for under rs 500/- and smash it up to bring very useful parts i did this many times and this surely worked for me!!
The only useful parts in that range would be two dc motors, and wheels. You can buy this separately for less than Rs.100.
Alankar can you elaborate on what you did with the parts you recovered?
OT:i have a 27mhz rc truck which i bought for Rs550 7years back. The same thing costs double now. Toys are like real-estate :D
Really? I thought they are real estate but of US which keep on falling in their value and no one want to pay more for them. The same thing which was available for over 2000 at that time, simplest 2CH Heli.. made out of foam.. is now eating dust at just 400-500. With China reaching every sector I think toys or whatever is China made is getting cheaper by every passing day.
Its possible in a budget of 5000 if you buy from hk.. I suggest increasing to 6000 and getting a charger with lcd display like the hk eco6..
While I responded to Rajath's comment.. did anyone realized we are responding to a thread which died in Feb. :)
Im talking about the ones you get in shops here loacally - saphires, toys n toys and the like.
But IR controlled RTF Micro Plane is lowest priced but without servo.
