Hi,
I'm a newbie in rc plane, need some recommendations for the motor and propeller to be used .
I built a plane using coroplast 3mm with the following specs
Wing span 48inch.
Chord length 8inch.
Fuselage length 36 inch.
Zero dihedral angle and incidence angle.

I used the following electronic,
Motor 2212 1000kv bldc
Esc 30A
Prop 1045
3s lipo.

Total weight including everything was nearly 1000gm
But unfortunately it didn't take off, tried to launch by hand, but ended up in a nose dive and crashed.

The plane was balanced perfectly.

However I'm planning to change the broken fuselage....any simple plans that I can copy for the wing?

Also please suggest the suitable motor for AUW of 1000gm.

Thanks & regards.

What you have is adequate.

Build an already proven design instead of starting with your own design.

Best wishes.

Thank you sir.

I will try a simple fuselage....and come back.

Hey Dominic,

Good luck with your journey. I remember how badly I crashed my first plane with nose dive but don't worry we have great people here to help each other out. Here is one of easy trainer plane you can try to make at home. The link to free downloadable plans are at the end of the page, you can print the "FT Tiny Trainer (Tiled Plans)" in your normal home printer and tape it together to form one big sheet and cut foam pieces from it.

There is also old fogey which I built and easy to fly. It requires just two servo for tail end.

There is a video too to help you through build process. Good Luck.

Hey Yash,

Thanks for the advice. Do you have any coroplast SPAD plans using 2212/13T 1000Kv motor?

I'm trying to avoid additional investment in electronics, for now.

Dominic

Wow sir this is very helpful video.
I'll make it his weekend.

Thanks for the share and advise.

I personally recommend the Noob tube V2 with dihedral for easier flight, given that you are a beginner....
Volantex Phoenix v2 2000mm
Lunchbox Chuck Glider (best flight 22s)
EaKa-1 WonderTube Trainer- Success!
Boat: DIY Catamaran Airboat

Hi, I'm also new, planning to do the Noob Tube which you posted as the first plane. Will this work with A2212 1000kv motor? In the video 1400kv is suggested.

Did it roll to one side soon after launch , before nose diving ?
Im am also a beginner and learnt the hard way that if you launch at full throttle, specially with a large prop, 10",
The torque from the motor will cause the plane to roll to one side, and lead to a crash.
So launch at a lower throttle.
Aim for the stars and you may have the moon.
