Hi all,

After struggling much , i got my first flight...the problem was my battery , i got new one , and it is now taking off correctly..

however , there is problem very common but i see no solution on internet in famous RC forums .... i asked this one on CC3D librepilot forums too .all they say is tighten the nuts properly..duh..

the problem is - the tightened unit comes off from the motor , i mean the whole assembly with props.......and then it crashes.. :(

below is pic of the part which is i am talking about..please dont say ...tighten it...i mean...it is not tightened..it is just put on motor...on all other motors, it is not happening..only on one motor...

Please help

I also face the same issue... when my quads tumble and strikes the ground ..this nut comes out (motor still spinning a bit).... many a time I spend my time searching for this nut...  :headscratch:
The soln: Just tie one end of a thread in the nut hole which is used to tighten it and other end to the quad boy.. This will save your time but yes it will still pop up no matter how much you tight it. :banghead:

If only the nut is coming off, use a nylon locknut (nylock) instead of those useless cone shaped nuts. You usually need M5 nuts. I think Indian.hobby.Shop on eBay has them. I am not sure what to do if the whole prop adapter comes off since I have never used that type

Which motors are you using? Do they have 3mm shaft? There are two sizes of prop adapters available with marginal difference in bore size. If you use a 3.17mm adapter on a 3mm shaft, it comes off.

anshulkatta

yes..3.17mm...it might be true....but that came with the motor itself...

but this might interfere with prop rotation ...can you explain what you did there  :o

vineet

do not use it ,change your motor immediately

those extra long ends are to be cut, and it does not interfere with the prop rotation.
though i did not recommend , it works fine for me many times.especially on planes where zip ties pop off, and thus save props.

wrap cellotape around the motor shaft and then put on the prop adapter

just one or two layers - do not overdo it

or if you have heatshrink tube even better - put a piece over the shaft - shrink it
and then put on the prop adapter

but why..what motor has to do with anything...but one of my electronics friend told me that watch the rpm of motor...is it too fast...?

saikat

Why don't you try the non invasive solution first ?

... Try first with cellotape . if it doesn't work you can always go for other methods

anshulkatta

Roger that...will do it..and post results with other methods..  :salute:

tell your electronics friend to use some logic .... do you not think that if the motor was faster
than the others , then that end would keep going up ??

secondly ... when you test your quad .... tie it down and take it up to full throttle ... you
can check the ingtegrity of your fastened props safely.

anshulkatta

bhai gussa mat ho...mai test karta hu..ha ..i can tie it down..thats quite good to know...because half of the time..it drops down like a fallen angel   :hatsoff:

The only reason I can think of is that the adapter is not of proper size, i.e., motor shaft is smaller than prop adapter dia.
