How to wire ESC to battery and motor

Guys,

Need help with connectors and instructions on how to wire the ESC to battery and Motor.

Well the motor has bullet connectors and the batteries come with 4mm bulltet connectors. Now I am about to order the Turnigy ESC as well and am not sure the connectors that I need to order along.

Any photo to help me understand would be appreciated.

My Solution.... without Confusion and easy to do........ cut and remove all Bullet or banana connectors from Battery, get some Dean connector and replace all in one go... Simple and straight forward.........  {:)} {:)} {:)} {:)}
Fly high if you have good set of batteries.....!

I like these connectors better than the deans.

The main issues I see with the hobbycity product mentioned is that one has to be extra careful while connecting. Dean and others similar could prevent a reverse polarity connection....

ESC to motor is typically whatever size bullet connectors the motor came with.  

ESC to battery, you can use the one suggested by RotorZone, or go with deans.  There is also the Anderson Powerpole ones that Santhosh dies for ;)

Deans is more prevelant, so you can possibly borrow/test from others. There are some Chinese knock offs of deans, that are hard to plug in and out.

Since it comes in pairs with the male and female attached together on the same side, you can avoid reverse polarity connections (assuming you soldered the wires correctly).  But it may still possible for you to touch the ends of the connectors together in a reverse polarity situation, but not be able to push them in.

On the 34th sheet, you will find a circuit diagram on how to connect the ESC, motor, batteries and rx

Only, I will not use the switches suggested as they have to be of very robust construction if your current draw is higher than 5 amps. Therefore to switch on or switch off the system, simply pull the dean plugs (connection between the ESC and the battery) apart. This is almost standard practise amoung Electric RC'rs.

If you find that the motor is rotating in the reverse direction, simply interchange any two of the wires connections between the ESC and the motor.

Reverse connection is not possible. If you look closely the two tubes of the connector are of different diameter, so it'll go in only one way. If you need different pics let me know. I'm using it in my heli.

working now....these are banana connectors...and yes, they are also good....

hi, i have used banana, deans and other connectors on my products.
recently i got turnigy 2600 Mah battery to work upon.  those batteries came with banan connectors, but ESC was w/o connectors. one thing i notice with that battery is that soldering a dean on that battery is the major challenge due to thickness of wire. in this case a banana connector is a good option. bullet connector is small in size as compared to Banana so can be used at ESC to Motor. IN SHORT....what ever connectors is used in your electronics..utmost care should be taken to check if it can handle the drawing current from the battery. proper soldering is MUST along with heat shrinking tube....

Here are pics of the connector. The terminals are recessed inside the connector, they will not touch if you attempt a reverse connection as shown in the pic.

Good things about this connector is its current rating. Also no heat shrink is required.

You need to make sure the wire goes in straight during soldering or it'll be a little difficult to connect.

There is no easy way to get the terminal out the housing if you want to change the connection later. I did read a way to do this somewhere but can't recall it now.

Like two pin Bananna Connector, HC has three pin connectors as well best suited for Brushless motor

Sort of a bad idea.  If you have to reverse the lines to make the motor turn in the right direction, you might be stuck.  Just go wtih bullets for the ESC to motor connection.  You do not plug and unplug them all the time anyways.

Unless this provides for connection reversal by twisting one of the terminals by 180 degrees.

I just noticed that in the picture by rotorzone, the bullet connectors were mixed. In the sense that it is not that one side is only male and the other is only female. I think this is a good idea since it will ensure that there is no way we can interchange the leads while connecting or disconnecting.

If i am not wrong Anwar, to reverse the direction of a motor you need to swap only two wires, preferably leave the center one as it is and swap the other two. in that three pin model u can swap this easily as there is no fix guide to prevent reversal. that can be confirmed only when i have that connector in my hand, but i am sure by looking at the picture....it can be done easily....
