What kind of gliders do you have ? In future i plan to buy some gliders, i thnk mr.sai is the right person for that..

great video atul bhaiya  {:)} {:)}

and i always had a question in mind that i have seen people taking gliders to a level as high that it appears as a point how the hell do they manage to land that thing and not loose orientation ??? ??? ???

(i believe a lot lot lot lot lot of practise 8-) 8-))

Guys ,
Gliders though they appear to be simples and great floaters really improve the flying skills .
I have seen it happen myself in the case of Venkat .
His flying improved drastically after his practice and his winning the IIT Mumbai tech fest with MR MOSS.
You really learn to read wind and use it to your advantage only in Gliders .
In case of gliding your major friend as well a problem is the wind , so once you know how to use it to your advantage you generally follow the same principles with any other aircraft you fly.
This is possibly why the pros still love to fly gliders.

In Europe which has produced some great RC champs Gliding and slope sailing is very popular .

The Twin star also can be flown like a glider .
Cut power the plane will start descending  and  as it becomes clearer you get back your orientation.

With FPV Gliders are now being pushed even further beyond visible range

There is one record in the US where a polyhedral wing large glider was flown beyond eyesight near a city called Boulder. The pilot had, in that case, used a camera on the glider and use the video from camera to pilot the model till it was within eyesight. I had the chance to see this glider once during a local model club where it was hung up for display.

Check out the "Floyd" foamy glider that has a record of a non-stop eleven hour flight - www.steelheadproducts.com. If buying a model I would suggest getting from these guys - just too cheap and good models. I have two kits from these guys. Their moto is also the same - an affordable hobby.

I was thinking of putting ailerons on my easy star.. Anyone experimented this kind of stuff ? I think mr.sai has put on aileron on the fox.. Maybe i will do smthing like that.

any suggestions..

cheers

Try attaching a aileron made of balsa OR coro with tape without cutting the existing wing If it works  fine then you could cut a part of the existing wing and take it in like the fox

atul_pg

Exactly.. It makes sense i will attach a coro instead of damaging the original wing...

Found a nice link on rcgroups - http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=350408&page=14

chck it out..

hic cheers..

But this is not a glider in the true sense. But thats a lot of skill to fly around the pole in a small space.

This plane is called as the multiplex easy GLIDER pro...Its not a glider  ???

A huge glider being towed away in the air by another rc plane.. Nice video ..

Continuing my glider thread.. ;D

Just came across a very nice website for slope gliders , scale planes and vintage & classic gliders.. {:)}

Slope gliding is a pretty serious business abroad, I think I will try it this sunday.. :D

I have been into RC boats for some time and planning to get into RC planes now. But as they say it is important to start small and learn the small tricks of the game. I thought of starting off with a chuck glider primarily to understand how Balsa plane behaves. Most importantly I wanted to get hands on experience of sanding wings. Here I have a pre-cut Balsa Glider from India Hobby- Mumbai. This costed me Rs.100/-.
The kit came complete with precut fuselage, wings, nose weight, Sandpaper. A good kit for beginners.
All tough the kit came with an instruction guide, i thought the instructions were too vague and it took me some time to figure out the references to various spacers provided in the kit. I started off by sanding the fuselage and rounding corners. Next was the tail wings..these had to be tapered from the top to the rear side. The Main wings were a little difficult to sand. These also had to be sanded on the top surface tapering to the rear edge. The rear wings had to be glued together placed on a flat surface. The main wings had to be glued with one wing flat on the table the other at an angle with a small spacer below its outer end. Used Feviquick to glue. After the wings were glued they were inserted into their respective slots in the fuselage and glued. Added weight to the nose. Yet to have a trial of the same. But indoor trial makes the glider go nose up and suddenly drop. I think need to add some more nose weight. Will post video in some time. Here are some pictures of the precut and assembled model.

Hi Shreekant,

Thats a sweet glider and for that price its very sweet.. :D

Can you give me some more details from where you purchased it ? Like a website or contact no if possible..thanks

By looking at the pics it definately needs some nose weight, you can also build a catapult kind of thing to chuck it in the air.. :D

Thanks for sharing man..
