I read through the rules i think ARF is not permitted unless you are planning to buy one and make it look like you made it by changing the covering. for the competition, as per the problem statement you will require different ones for going around the pylon and for the aerobatics, there is also the Hover and Stall Turn, outside loop which will be difficult to hack if you are new to this hobby. engines aren't permitted too. Looks like Shadman is going to walk away with this prize money once again

here are the rules

Flying weight of the plane must not exceed 1 kg .This includes all the accessories of the plane while in flight (batteries etc). This will be checked before each takeoff.

Teams are allowed to use electric components only since this is strictly an electric plane competition.

   IC engines are strictly prohibited.

Teams are allowed to bring two planes. However a single model has to be used throughout a round.

Take-off and landing can be done on landing gears or by a push from hands.

Metal propellers are strictly not allowed.

   Use of gyros is prohibited.

The models should be handmade. Ready-to-fly models and planes assembled from kits are strictly prohibited. Any other   improvements not jeopardizing the safety of the people around are allowed.

The final decisions about the eligibility of the model will rest with the Event Coordinator's.
