Hello all,

I am a beginner in rc flying and after reading n researching about i got a lil more confused and have a lot of questions to begin with.
I stay in Chandrapur-Maharashtra roughly 170km from Nagpur, n RC flying hasnt caught up much here.

1) Why is edf jets not recommended for beginners?

2) Why is a Futuba remote expensive than others say hobby king remotes, what is the difference?Since they do not have moving parts
so i guess they should have a long lifetime.

A) http://www.rcindia.org/radios-and-receivers/big-brand-radio-comparisons-with-others/

3)Is buying/importing 2.4 ghz rx system from outside India still a bad idea?(2.4 ghz wifi is allowed at homes but why do the rx have restrictions  ???)

4)Do the customs hold up the parcel if it contains just the model and motor, i.e without the remote in it? Does it attract any duty?

5)Most of Indian rc shops i checked online have 1 or the other item out of stock(haven't contacted personally yet), i need cheap stuff so that i can see whether i can handle it and carry on with it :-\. Can any seller help me out here?

PS: Im goin thru the topics n will cancel out the questions, i find answers for.

Hey SideWinder, welcome to the forum!

1) EDF jets are difficult to fly(even take-off) for beginners as they are very sensitive and fast. You'll realize that if you try it on a simulator.

3) You can get good 2.4G radios here in India itself. Why import them?

5) Don't go for cheap stuff. Save funds and get the correct setup for a beginner plane.

Do you currently study/ stay in nagpur? I fly near S.O.S, besa on weekends and holidays.
Which plane are you planning to build/ purchase?

You are doing the right thing   Most beginners on the forum just do not take the pain of doing some searches and reading through the results... the advantages of which are massive !

I saw a couple of videos of Banana Hobbies and it looked easy the way he did it with edf jets(they look cooler too, F22 raptors n other fighter planes ;D ), But yeah i will stick some beginner birds.

3) You can get good 2.4G radios here in India itself. Why import them?
I found the best ones too expensive and most of the good ones out of stock, so thought that will get a basic 6ch remote to start with as they would be cheaper even if the 35% duty is applied

5) Don't go for cheap stuff. Save funds and get the correct setup for a beginner plane.
Yeah but how much finds would be enough, i was thinking to wrap it up in Rs 10000.

Do you currently study/ stay in nagpur?
I dnt stay in nagpur but can visit sometime n would like to see how flyin works with u if u dont mind :)
I fly near S.O.S, besa on weekends and holidays.

I am not sure abt plane bcoz started my search for an rx/tx system first and couldnt find good offers on indian rc sites.

>>Checked RC bazaar but remotes are out of stock http://www.rcbazaar.com/category/64-transmitters-receivers-24ghz.aspx

>>Rc dahmaka is out of stock on the cheaper sanwa remotes http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=89&zenid=0td7pgb162b5p956otsig6e2v5

>>Jack hobbies has been flagged off with problems so didnt bother abt them(altho site representation was good).

>> Rc for all has got a single 2ch remote on sale http://rcforall.co.in/index.php?cPath=23_41

>> RCskyhobby is oput of stock on 6ch remotes http://www.rcskyhobby.com/products.php?main_page=productDisplay&cat=20

>>Rcbharat is out of stock too http://www.rcbharat.com/getproduct.php?category=Tx/Rx%20Systems

Now only ones with stock were:

thehobbyshop http://thehobbyshop.in/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2&zenid=3e56612538f99880dbacfa2644f0cd67

and

rchobbyaddict http://rchobbyaddict.com/index.php?cPath=22&osCsid=5b0c3383ee55edbe25e3ed20702dddff

I think sites are not updated on regular basis bcoz i have been checkin them for a while and they show out of stock.

Didnt check the rest of them as i am not sure about there services/reputation :-\

Was thinking of getting a 2.4 ghz 6ch rx/tx Turnigy or HK rx/tx, and ones its sorted selecting a plane would be easier i believe.

I wanted to get all the things required from a single seller to avoid hassles so would appreciate suggestions on where to shop things from india :help:

@Anwar thankx

Swapnil

I checked RCH and THS and they don't have radios either.

Why don't you check the 'for sale' threads here, maybe you'll get something. The best thing to do would be to wait and get a good radio (Turnigy 9x or similar) once it's available.

I got all my stuff from different sellers (RCH, RCE, RCD, RCforall, AEW etc) and it wasn't a hassle at all. It's sometimes cheaper that way as some items are out-of-stock with some shops.

Check the 'RCFORALL SHIKRA' and 'RCFORALL MR. MOSS GLIDER' combos. They include. all electronics with radio and cost less than 10,000.

RCFORALL SHIKRA n 'RCFORALL MR. MOSS GLIDER' combos dont have a 6ch 2.4 ghz remote bundled with them m8.

I can but buy the planes but still would need a remote.

EDIT:
checked 11 pages of FOR SALE

good ones are either sold or no response in some cases

mirmoazam

Use Search, an will get answers from past threads.
Most question have answered earlier and you have to put correct word in place of search box like CUSTOMS, Beginner's guide, Which Tx,  etc. etc.
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.
