Making flying R/C Place with normal R/C Car Radio (remote) is not feasible for longterm unless you want to do it just for heck of doing it:

1. Car Remote are not proportional - you need proportional Radio for planes (now a days at least)
2. Car radio Reviver wont work with normal servos we use for R/C
4. Worse, Car radio is usually 2 -channel again min channels for Planes is 3.

one needs at least 10K to start serious R/C Planes.... just my gut estimates taking the most economical radio and electronis

With this budget, the simplest (and pretty much only option) is to buy one of the toy Chinese planes from the local malls or toy stores.  They do not last very long, spares are pretty much non-existent and they fly do not well either  :(

In short, flying a radio-controlled (remote controlled) plane (even after scratch building) remains a close to Rs5000 affair.

Yup, with 2000 rs you will end with with only those crap chinese planes. You should atleast have a budget of Rs 4000 if u want to buy a RTF which i guess is the cheapest option available for u right now.

Which RTF is costing 4K with standard (re-usable) Radio/Plane/Motor/Batter/Charger etc ?

4k for fusalage, motor, esc, servo no radio.... mostly i think..

Well, if you go SPAD or use foam type materials, the frame itself will be under Rs500.  If you get a Motor+ESC+Prop combo for about Rs.1400 (was available at RCDhamaka a little while ago, out of stock now), and 2 or 3 micro servos (Rs 600ish) that takes care of electronics. The big chunk is still a radio+receiver, that is where I guessed a bit less than 3K (for a very simple/used one).  This was the basis of my calculations.

i doubt theres anthing in that range for a serious rc person but you are a beginer like me here :) so take it easy. im planning to get myself a lama 4v and learn - cos il be getting the sim with it. Rs 4666 at rc dhamaka but out of stock. im in no hurry though. if you are working then sending the budget a little north should be reasonable for the reward. if you are a student (like me again) start saving up. the joy of buying something from saved cash is unparalled :)
search for a model close to your budget and learn as much as possible from if. as interests grows you'l find a way get a good model.

The golden rule of getting into RC, please get in touch with the local RC flyers !  There are at least 3 fields in Delhi, depending on which part of Delhi you are.

You can get contact details of each field/club from : http://www.rcindia.org/rc-locations-and-clubs/mega-list-of-rc-fields-locations-clubs-in-india/

There are other details at : http://www.amai.in also.

Mr Moss comes for 4.2K, without the Radio Tx/Rx... so still the problem.

Gaurav, I would suggest dont spend the fund at your hand in a frenzy. Although  Anwar's advice on buying Cheapo Chinese plane  is good if you want the plane for immediate and short term, it would be great you hold on the money as that it a toy after all.

Get a decent radio first. Even an old 4 Channel FM would do. You can buy alternative power system (Nimh instead of Lipo, Brushed Motor instead of Brushless) and make an airframe yourself (using Depron/Coroplast).
but once put you money on Chinese toy, the money is gone...

All the best ..
