Hi everyone,
Many members seem to have caught the 5th Anniversary Sweepstakes fever.
Seniors as well as newcomers.
Occasionally when i post some videos of the Bipe, i get requests for details.

Starting this thread in the hope that it may be of some help to young members looking for an inexpensive, easy to build model that is safe and easy to fly.

You may have seen this 5sec clip.

Fuselage, stabilizer and fin/rudder size.

Wing location.
Using 1/8"x3/4" balsa.
Top wing staggered 1" ahead of bottom wing.
Angle of incidence - LE of wing is 1/4" or 6mm higher than TE (compared with zero/zero in tailplane and thrust line)

Motor mounting. Couldn't be simpler.

Model doesn't weigh much. But flown regularly in wind exceeding 10-15km. Indore is windy!

Other data:

Material - 6mm biofoam. One sheet more than enough!
Spars - 2mm od CF tube.
Dihedral braces. Two 3" pieces of cycle spoke, bent in the middle.
Spar location 2" from LE
CG on top wing spar.
Power - Donkey ST2204 1700kv and 10A ESC combo from HK
1300 mah 2s lipo
8x4 prop
1" lightweight wheels. Undercarriage legs thin spring steel wire. Let it flex, don't make strong/heavy.

Let me know if i've missed any detail.

Edit:
KITNA DETI HAI?
Flies on under 25watts, or 3amps. 10 minutes on half battery consumption.

Even rcpilotacro enjoyed flying the INDORE BIPE outdoors in the wind!

Happy Landings.

Gusty's Hangar and Introduction.

A Good pilot will practice until he gets it right,
A Great pilot will practice until he can't get it wrong.

Net connection is pathetic today - struggling to view the video. However, as opined by the experts, she must be a beauty. Congrats Sir!

Plans please?
Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional!

K K Iyer

Endorsements, endorsements, endorsements!
Many thanks for the kind words.
Who could ask for anything more
(Especially when i'm 64!)

@VC sir,
Pics have dimensions. No need for a drawing!

K K Iyer

Rcpilotacro is a Magician,
Got a pm that he is sending me something i needed.
No clue how he came to know!

ashok baijal

Good job Iyer.
Before going to Knp in November I had built a Hawker Hurricane though I never got time to fly it. Maybe one of these days I will try it out. Attaching a few photos.

@ashok baijal
Looks better than my much used Spitfire!

Edit: 2nd pic is rcpilotacro flying the spitfire inverted.

K K Iyer

Hi everyone,
This Mr Ashok Baijal has come out of hiding.
He started aeromodelling in 1982, after seeing me, his neighbour.
(Before that he was an amateur radio HAM operator)
Now retired and has all the time in the world. So watch out for him.
Please welcome Mr Baijal to RC India.

Wonder if kudos kill off a thread.
No response from any of those who were asking for a simple model to start with.
