Hi,

I am novice. I met a person who makes RC planes and also mentioned that he will guide me in getting started an repair if it crashes. He suggested me to buy a RC gasoline engine plane with Futaba controls.  I am not doubting the credibility of this person. The plane which he showed me was fairly large, approximately 4 - 4.5 feet in length.

My concerns are
1. I have a santro car and I feel it won't fit in to transport the plan to the flying area
2. Should I start with gasoline or electric motor ones
3. Are there any other locations other than Hoskote lake area
4. Is it advisable to start with PC simulator or start with actual planes
5. Should I start with the custom built or factory made ones (I would love to spend time learning how to build and make one myself, of course with guidance)
6. Which is right season to fly

Any suggestions and information on budget are welcome.

1. make a smaller plane like the blubaby or buy a plane like the bixler or axn floater or multiplex easystar.
2. that depends on your budget

5.its your choice but I strongly recommend you to make on as you will increase your  knowledge

get yourself a good radio if you are going to stay in this hobby for long

Thanks Nitesh, which radio would you suggest. As the same radio can be used for other planes too, I don't mind investing on a good one.

I hve not flown anything till now nor I have a radio but till now what I have read on this mighty forum the 8fg is a good radio or if you want to pay little less go for 6ex or 7c even jr and hitec is good

You should consider Spectrum Dx6i or Dx7 and also the Flysky9x

Just go for the fsth9x, or turnigy 9x. best value for money full function tx

You may also go for rcb 7x, coming with simulator as well, no need to get separate kit for simulator also it is not expensive. I am using it.

ya fsth9x and rcb7x with a fr_sky upgrade is just like a branded tx

>> get the easy star 2 from Rcdhamaka (http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_46&products_id=906) Its out of stock now but will be get stock in next week hopefully. This is completely portable solution to get fit in your car and one of the best beginners choice plane.

>> Electric are good to start, as more convenient to manage.

>> You may search on top right for the Bangalore flying locations or flyers to contact them which may guide you.

>> Do just basic practice on simulator to understand the radio and controls. Then you can try on actual plane in presence of rc flyer.

>> i think if you can budget ES2 from rcdhamaka that is a good way to start. later you can build the planes on your own.

6. Which is right season to fly.
>> any day when you can see clear sky.

Which Radio?
>> its totally upon the individual decision to go with. I prefer to go with Futaba, Spectrum, JR or Swana radio instead of Chinese re-branded radio. And for the budgeted radio - Turnigy 9X or FrSky radios which are also have  good proven record. Radio is a investment as you do not like to keep buying radio and receivers again and again. I have futaba radio and use frsky receivers with it which give me budget solution as the full range frsky receivers are as cheap as $20 and that solves my flying purpose. Future also if you go with costly planes you just need to get the original receivers and radio still remains same which is again saving.  Again its upto individual and budget one have.
