Hello,

I am using a LiPo battery to power my RC airplane. As I am a noob, I wanted to know whether it is necessary to provide air ducts for cooling it or not? What if the battery is within a chamber and is not in contact with air. Then is it danger in any way (due to heating and all)?

Thank you very much.

Regards.

If the battery can constantly provide the current your motor needs,I doubt you will have a problem with heating. But it would be advised to figure a way out to cool it in flight.Cooling ducts should work.

lipos just overheat if they are not charged or discharged properly. just keep a good charger and use a balancer to make sure your lipo stays healthy.

Cooling for ESC is fine but if you are heating your LiPo by pulling too much AMP, to a limit it needs cooling, you should put a bigger LiPo instead of colling it. Its a sign of bad choice of Battery.

In ideal condition, the Lipo does get 'warm' after the flight, and that should be okay as long as you ;and  the plan just in time. Getting it Hot would be crossing the limit already.
