@threeonethree,

The simplest OPD (overload protection device or smoke stopper) is a fuse.
In any small electronics shop you can get one for a few rupees.
Looks like a small 1" tubelight with a thin (nearly invisible) wire inside the glass tube.
Its holder is a small piece with a clip at each end.
Available in different amp ratings. Select based on the amp level you do not want to exceed in your project (the max you consider safe)
Get 3-4. When one fuse blows, it has to be replaced.

You are probably already aware of all this.

There are of course alternatives.
Other members will be able to give more specific advice if you post some details of your project and expected current draws...
Regards

I am making a quadcopter with the following components.

1) Frame -> ZMR 250 clone
2) Motors -> 2205 racerstar 2300Kv
3) 35amp Racerstar special edition 4 in 1 ESC
4) Flight controller F4 omnibus betaflight clone
5) Reciever + Transmitter Frsky i6 (FS-iA6B)
6) Battery  -> Tattu 1550 mah 4s

I would like to use a smoke stopper to power it on the first time.

How do i make one with a fuse?
