here are some pics of modifications done to my older plane...i hope its right this time......
it is the smaller version of slowstick trainer.i refered to the plan given..
pl give your suggestions if some modifications are required...

also i have made two separate wings,as i could not get big sheet of coroplast..pl tell me how should i connect these two to my fuselage...

thanks

i went through an article and accordingly sized my elevator and rudder...rienforced my fuse with light but strong pvc pipe piece..

Maserati,

I must say you are going bang on target this time. To Join the two wings half, insert cycle spoke/ umbrella metal rods or piano wire two on both top and bottom surface flutes. Insert in such a way that half length of the metal rod is inside both the wing halfs after giving a light coat of araldite to the metal rods.

after you do this sand with fine emery both the top surface and bottom surface say three inches on either side of the joint so formed. Now take another piece of same coro 6 inches wide and more than twice the chord length. Sand with fine emery again one side of this piece. Apply nice coat of Araldite/ Hot glue and wrap around the joint formed along the chord length on both sides.

Let it cure. Now your wings will be joined and reinforced at the joint. Now you can make a rubber band joint of the wing and fuse.

To give a slight dihedral. bend the metal rods all four of them 5 degrees at the half before you insert. similarly the coro piece also has to be bent 5 degrees to stick nicely with the bent surface.

Good going!  {:)}

Maybe you should name your plane 'Dreamz' ...then you won't have to paint the coro!  ;D

thanks for your comments...i really needed some positive comments this time...

pl leave your suggestions...senior members.....

two thinks to check..... 1) the elev and wing chord need to be on the straight line (may be parellel) but try not to introduce an angle of attack on either.

2) check the rigidity of the wing by holding it on tips while fully loaded - the dihedral should not increase

3) check the CG by balancing the plane on 1/3 the chord on the tips, it should be level or very slightly nose heavy (1 or 2 degree)

here are some more pics of my plane.
almost everything is done.control rods are left and waiting for 1000mah lipo to arrive...

i have some queries

1-pl let me know the location where wings should be attached to fuse??

2-also let me know that what should be the total weight of my plane to fly??im using E-MAX CF2812 motor with 7x4 prop..

PankajC

what are the dimensions? length, wing span & chord, weight etc?
Spektrum DX6i | EP Pusher Trainer | EP CUB |

maserati

sir dimensions are as follows-
length-68cms
wing span-100cms
chord-14.5cms
weight without battery is around 250 gms.sir with your 1000mah battery will be around 340gms....

also sir, planswer my questions listed in above post?

PankajC

For a length of 68 and chord of 14.5, I guess the LE of the wing to be about 20cm from nose should be OK

maserati

also sir what should be overall weight.?????
ultra stick(electric),osh kosh,SPADET LC-40,coro piper cub 76".

PankajC

for the motor your size, I guess 400 gm should be the upper limit

sir i just saw the specifications of my motor.its given that with 7x4 prop, which im using ,thrust will be 580 gmsand with 7x6 thrust will be 780gms..what does this mean??????

pl help me people......i am not getting any idea to fix my front landing gear..i tried fixing it but but it again slips from its position when the plane is place on ground due to weight...pl help.........'

thanks .......

attaching the landing strut should be the last of the consideration at this stage. being a coro setup one can always belly land.

sir yesterday i asked a question.it was that when i saw the specification of my motor on net, it showed that it gives thrust of 580 gms with 7x4 prop and 780 gms with 7x6 prop..what does it mean??
ultra stick(electric),osh kosh,SPADET LC-40,coro piper cub 76".

PankajC

see, I am no expert. but its something like this -
the prop has two values - first is the diameter and the second is the distance it travels in one rotation (prop travel is similar to a screw). So now to travel more, will consume more power and that in turn would mean more pressure which in turn would translate into greater ability to push the plane forward.

maserati

sir right nw i am using 7x4 prop..with it the gives 580 gms of thrust..does it mean that it can easily carry plane with total weight of approx 500 gms??
