Hello Everyone,
This is my first post here. I'm an engineering student and was introduced to this hobby by one of the seniors of my college. After going through several threads here which are for beginners and learning on many online websites I'd gathered a basic knowledge of building and flying RC models. My simulator training is still going under the guidance of my senior. I hope very soon I'll be flying my first model, most probably a slowstick.
Today, I got my kit from www.vortex-rc.com (//http://). It is a VT-Allrounder with Intermediate wing. I'm very excited to build this model. I'll have to say it was a wonderful experience dealing with Vortex-RC. The best thing about the kit is that it includes everything required by a newbie for building a RC model. I'd been through build videos and manuals available for this model. Everything is explained in detail and highly illustrative with figures etc. In my opinion products available on Vortex-RC are good for all beginners like me and other flyers too. I'm planning to complete this build by this weekend. Will keep on updating about progress.

Nice to see a post written in (what we knew as) English!
Got a worried pm from Sushant asking 'Any mistake, sir?'
Not at all.
No problem with guys for whom the language is new.
Just a little tired of educated people using lowbrow stuff like 'wanna', 'gotta' etc thinking it is fashionable.
Great going Sushant !
Look forward to seeing your build . Do refer to the manuals and the build videos as linked below. Would help greatly

All the best ! Hope you enjoy the build and the flight .
Hey Gaurav,
that's a great thing going now..... Best Wishes
Hi Sushant...
Good to know that you've started building your model. Kindly call me if any help is required. Post the pics soon...
So here are the pics during construction. Fuselage is almost completed, only electronics left to be installed.
Preparing doublers followed by wing mounting plate.
Fuselage taking its shape... 1st pic
Battery Bay with velcro... 2nd pic
Windscreen and cockpit ready....3rd, 4th pic
Top and bottom sides glued.
Horizontal and vertical stabilizers installed with coro skids.
Super ! I hope you enjoyed the build. Its great when you can convert a sheet of coro to a proper fuselage and you dont need to worry about dimenstions, fitting etc..
Keep it going.. Look forward to see the rest of the build too !
Good Sushant.
Kindly post the other pics also.
Ok so building part is almost over. Pics attached. Enjoyed building wings and decorating with decals.
Got many comments from people stating: "Bought it from market?".... "You yourself cannot build it so nice"... " how did you do this"... and my favourite "please sell it to me" :giggle: :giggle:
Decorating with decals...
Installing spar...
Everything all together.
Assembling wing. Installed dihedral braces using books to uplift it from one side.
Installed servo for tail section and in last installation of servo for ailerons....
Installation of aileron servo with control horns and push rod completed.
Installation of servos for fuse section done.
Wing base adaptors only left to be glued.
So, finally construction part of VT-Allrounder is completed. Glued the wing base adaptors. It needed a little trim near trailing edge. Also, checked all trims. Everything seems to be fine. CG perfect.
Maiden flight tomorrow 5AM. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
Don't worry Sushant. This is a very good model. It will definitely fly very good. I'll be joining you tomorrow morning if possible.
Already its 2am, how would i wake up at 5 :giggle: :giggle:.
nice n clean build {:)} {:)}
hope to see this baby in air soon... (:|~
please post some vids sushant..... (:|~
good luck with the maiden :thumbsup:
Looks very nice.
How was the maiden?
Hope you used more rubber bands than shown in pic!
Good build sushant,
 Vortex for bringing such good model, The best decal i like is " Proudly Made in India "
Sushant,
1. Thanks for taking the time to do the build thread here and posting pictures.
2. Your build looks very neat and good
3. The only slight devation from the manual I see is how you have glued in the dihedral braces. I see that you glued all three braces on the top, when it was designed to have the the 2 big ones to be glued - one on top of the wing and the other on bottom. Should be OK, with what you did though too.
4. Any comments for the manual ? Any edits or overlooks you might have come across so we can improve ?
5. Lastly, hope you had a good maiden. DO share pictures, and results.

@madaquif: Thank you sir. I would post photos/videos for maiden soon. Still maiden not done since, due to a mishappening, college is closed and no other field nearby.
Iyer Sir: Maiden still not done. Reason already stated. And yes I'll use 2 more rubber bands(i.e. total 4) while clicking pic I just used 2 for keeping the wing in place.
@gaurav sir: Very sorry for not keeping that in mind. I hope that is not a problem.
Manual is ok. No modification needed. I just felt while using fiber tape on trailing edge for keeping it safe due to stretched rubberband there are chances of trailing edge getting damaged since these bands are new so very tight. I'd used small balsa strips under fiber tape to keep it safe.
Sounds Good.
Look forward to the maiden !
Sushant when are you planning to post the video of maiden. It was awesome. So stable with no trim required. There was absolutely no need to give any input from the transmitter apart from taking turns/climbing etc. Post the video ASAP.
Beauty build....and this interlocking part on fuse are frickeen awesome n sturdy
Hello everyone,
Very sorry for being late. It was raining here and tight college schedule kept me away from flying :banghead:.
Finally, maiden is done and I'm proud to say that it was successful. I took help from my seniors since, I'm a beginner in flying. This model flew very stable and smooth. Loved to see it in air. I remember it flew for approx. 15 minutes on a 2200mAh battery.
I would like to owe a big thanks to Vortex-RC and team for providing such a wonderful kit. Secondly, I would like to thank my senior for helping me throughout and my room mates who are a part of my team.
:hatsoff:
Slow internet connection so video will come very soon. Till then, enjoy pics.
Congrats.
Looks perfectly stable in the pics.
I remember my model was chased for around 2 minutes continuously by an Eagle. Was very scary. Infact, at one moment it was almost a "mid-air collision" :giggle: :giggle:
Thank you so much sir :hatsoff:. It was very stable. No trim required. I'd seen people struggling for trimming their models mid-air but in my case it was not so.
Hi Sushant,
All pics are truely awesome. Great flying today. I agree with you that mid-air collision could have hurted the eagle as well as your model. It was scary. Hope so we'll go again for flying tomorrow. What you say?
Iyer sir, I'll have to say this model was very stable. I was little nervous during takeoff but it went straight up. This model is for beginners who are new to hobby. At last, wonderful kit and superb model.
Video of the maiden flight. Sorry for the bad quality of video due to poor internet connection.

Congrats to you and Gaurav
Sushant, congratulations on joining the forum and for your build. I wasn't aware of this company Vortex till now. Not at all surprised with the quality of the products - Anything associated with Mr. Gaurav Agarwal has to be top notch. By the way, as K.K.Iyer Sahab mentioned - please continue posting in the Queen's English.
Well done Sushant...... best wishes...
Gusty sir thank you so much.
@VC sir: Thanks sir
@wingmanbunty: thank you.
@shobhit sir: thank you so much
