Hello,
I am new to this hobby and before i got to know about RCI i had already finalized my first RC plane and it was FT22 raptor from FliteTest. I decided to build it myself rather than getting a kit. I will attach the pics in next post.
Here is the details of electronics i have used in this:
1. Transmitter FlySky i6x(bought from xyzhobby)
2. Receiver X6b(got with above transmitter)
3. 1400KV 30A ESC(bought as a kit from Amazon)
4. 2 SG90 Servo(bought from Amazon)
5. Paper coated Depron(bought from Amazon from RC Vortex)
6. Prop 9x4.7(bought from fellow member in RCI)

I have completed my build.
I am not able to configure the correct channel in FlySky i6x. I got to know that the receiver i am using is not meant for planes but for quadcopters. I found one video on youtube how to make it use for planes. After doing that i was able to control the motor speed and the flaps from the servo. But still those are not the way we have it in flight simulator. I have practiced a lot in simulation but not able to configure it like the simulator.
If anyone can help me out with my first flight that would be helpful.

m8 you have selected a really complicated plan for first build.

pnkyjs

You need to deviate from the plan and do some polyhedral , might be rather unstable , too much input would be needed for a good flight. Else add a FC configured for planes.
V911
V977
XFX 450 V2
Scratchbuild foamies galore

Thank you for your feedback. I will plan to build a simple one as well.
If anyone in pune is flying this weekend i can bring this so that i can get some feedback.

Please share a video of the flaps movement along with stick inputs, so folks can help you.

such a complicated configuration mix of elevator+aileron, channel stick mix is also awesom.
I would love to try it.

@shoz_on4u,
Do you want some constructive criticism?
There are many fatal (for the model) blunders seen in your video.
Other than being an utterly unsuitable model for learning on.

I think I'll keep quiet, and let other members guide you.

Hi,
I think you have'nt configured it traditionally. Control's are very simple, there are basically 3 controll surface Aileron, Elevator and rudder. Mostly you can do is mixing these controls e.g; aileron+Elevator, rudder+aileron etc.
But in fighter jet model you can also attach canard. Your transmitter  have two gimbal joystick having four channel control ,left for thrust(ch3) and rudder(4) , right for aileron( ch1) and elevator(ch2).
Hope these info will help you. And you can searcha a lot in youtube.

Yes the x6b receiver board that I built had problems with pins. Now I have configured the servos to channel 1&2 previously it was channel 1 &4 hence elevons were not working correctly. I will post another video tomorrow showing how elevons are working now. Thank you for your valuable feedback.

Hi
first of all this should not your first model, as  a beginner.
but now as you have made it, lets make this fly.
on your radio you have left hand side, throttle and rudder , on right hand you have, elevator and ailerons.
on left stick, bottom to up is throttle,  left to right is rudder.
right hand side stick, bottom to up is elevator and left to right is ailerons.

on your f22. you have to mix elevator and ailerons. so when you pull your right stick below, your both elevons should move upwards.
when you move the right hand stick to right side , your right elevons should move upwards and when you push the same stick left , your left elevons should move up.

Hello Manoj,
Thank you for your feedback. I will be making a simple one this weekend maybe Blue Baby 33 as it is mentioned in the sticky threads here. Regarding the elevons explanation it seems clear to me now. I will post a video soon for the same.

Hey,

I am glad the are experts are giving you right guidance, but don't worry about the model it will definitely fly, you said you have some sim practice , so just fly a jet in the sim and compare the gliding difference with other high or low wing models. To my understanding jets have lesser glide time as they have smaller wingspan and are made for speed, so keep the throttle high and add some expo on the Aileron stick.

Hi friend,

Well spotted. i missed that!
Shoz, pl reverse the prop...
Thank you for spotting that I have corrected the prop. Tomorrow I will be going to the place (Ramtekdi) where Pune people fly. I hope I find someone over there and can help me out with my plane and also learn some basics about flying. I will keep you people updated.

Hello Shoeb,

Thanks for sharing your experience with your first plane build !

how was your experience with the foam board ?
how was the lamination ?
Does the bend and curve in the nose work properly or breaks while bending?
and how does it react to hot glue ?

I too am nearing completion of my first build and had some trouble with aspects mentioned above.

Cheers !

PS - not revealing the name of the model i'm building as it will trigger a negative reaction about choice of first build, much like you have received ;)

Haha.
No compulsion to learn from the experience of others
Those who have a higher risk threshold can try riding a Harley before they've learnt to cycle!
Self confidence is good. But over confidence...?

Edit
Might is right. Aisa kya?

Someone might be more gifted in both being able to own and tame a Harley. While the rest brag about the power surge experienced since they moved from a Moped to a 100 cc commuter.

The way i see it from the comments earlier, it was absolutely important to first prove help seeking beginner wrong, "Forum Heros" being no exception.....  :salute:

One would expect to get help setting up a transmitter or the quality of the material, but instead "Global moderators" hope that they (newbies) get hammered with sarcasm.

I sill hope to get some useful info out of this thread though, most probably from others (as thread starter has received good advice through the thread too)
cheers to that !  :)

@mightisright,
Sir,
My original comment was just a way of pointing out that there were serious errors.
And I refrained from imposing my views.
If you see OP's responses #11, #14, you'll see that he wasn't offended, and still requested inputs.
See manojswizera's post too.

When OP is not offended, what's your problem.
I see that you misunderstood the bicycle/Harley comparison too.

You have no idea about me, or what I've done for newbies over the years, on RCI and otherwise.

Pl consider refraining from using your 'might is right' type of attitude...
