You need a brushless electronic speed controller for a brushless motor !! A servo is a device that is used to move the control surfaces on a plane in direct proportion to the user input from the transmitter. The servos used in the cheap toy cars available in the market only provide bang-bang controls, i.e. either completely to the left or completely to the right and not proportional. Exactly where do u live in mumbai, I stay at khar, am willing to offer whatever support I can, provided i'm not busy. Get in touch

thank u 4 d reply...
i stay in mira road...
n in thakur colg of aviation n tech..
i jsz know dat a combination of servo motor n actuator gives a desired angle
to d workin of an elevator...
wat do u think of d principle i have give vl it work??

Hi ,
This will give you all you need to fly your own plane :
http://cgi.ebay.in/RCFORALL-2-4-Ghz-4-CHANNEL-BEGINNERS-DREAM-COMBO_W0QQitemZ150379823757QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_203?hash=item230356028d

With this you make your plane and  fit everything to it practice on simulator with the cable and then start to fly.

For most part, I thought I was reading a SMS. Wonder why folks continue to distort the language when they have the entire text area at their disposal. Seriously speaking, how much of time/effort dues it save anyway?

Not really a place for professional advise, but getting into this habit would cause the person to use similar language in official communication later in life (at the place of work, or other official transactions), and it would look really bad.  Abbreviations are OK, but abbreviating every word makes it hard to read.

Looks like full keypad mobile phones are becoming more and more common, so blaming SMS may not be an option for too long. Yes, there is the character limit still, but when was the last time we went over the limit ?  :-\  8-)

Instant infraction and ban on some popular forums if typed in SMS lingo. We must maintain the language if we need others to read and respond. May sound very high funda, but good to maintain the quality of the forum.

Did not  know what other will feel about it hence let it by in my reply , but  I dread to think of the English quality which we Indian's  are well known for in a couple of years time  looking at this sort of English usage  :headscratch:

I receive  E mails from Engineering students in this kind of gibberish .

I sort of agree with Ajo but not to the extent of Ban but  Anwar a new comer to the forum using this kind of language needs to be warned that such english will not be tolerated .

In fact I would suggest  some kind of automatic flashing warning  in bold red color  appearing whenever a  person makes his first ten posts that proper complete  language is essential to maintain the forum quality :
eg
" PLEASE HELP US IN MAINTAINING THE LANGUAGE QUALITY OF THIS FORUM BY USING PROPER READABLE ENGLISH PLEASE AVOID ABBREVIATIONS LIKE THE TYPE USED IN SMS eg  "

I don't know if this can be done but if possible it would be the best by then I think he would have got used to using better  language quality in posts related to this forum when post count crosses 10 this message can be stopped.

Noted.  Will add to "forum usage guidelines".

Plain old English is so much better ;)  I just tried reading it again...  it was painful  :'(

I hope our new friend understands that there is no ill feeling, just making life easy for everyone in general.

Tried it again gave up on the 3rd line  8-) ;D  it gave me a headache like  :banghead: :banghead:

Apart from Guide lines I think you should have a small message flashing at least till 3 posts if  not 10  at least it will remind people to write in readable english

I apologise people for such a language. :-\
as i was new to this forum.
would keep in mind with it later. But dont you think u people you were out of their bounds.
i mean three to four replies on SMS language would have been better but people here are not intrested in helping but just blaming others all the time.
Writing SMS language in such forums does'nt mean that they use this language everywhere.
if people are getting headache like  :banghead: :banghead:
they could have just replied to write it in a simplified english thats it.
Any ways thank you sai for the link and anwar it was a very descent reply for a newbie at least not like such pains as stated by the fellow members.

i think this zone is build to help the beginners and share your dreams, rather then to gossiping on what kind of emails you recieve.
so please co-operate.
And a small request to the admin. that ban the people too who gossip about other things rather then the topic because of this its a pain to find out the helpful replies.
Its okay if you warn someone about the rules.

The first question is, do you necessarily have to go this 2 channel route, which makes the whole thing much complicated than needed for a beginner.  See this thread, for example :

http://www.rcindia.org/beginners-zone/coverting-a-low-cost-chinese-rc-car-into-an-rc-plane/

With 2 channels, RC boats and cars are much more feasible than planes !  I am not saying it cannot be done, but be prepared for significant frustrations.

If you are serious about getting into RC flying, go for at least a 3 channel setup with a proper radio (which can be a simple one).

cannot understand the concept , but what I have  suggests that  you are planning to use  the car  as some kind of towing vehicle for the plane  and you are  going to use the throttle of the car to regulate speed   and the elevator is tied to the steering  so if you turn right the elevator will be up say and opposite will be down elevator  ??? ???.
So as the car goes around the plane will gain altitude  like a tow glider does.
So the plane get momentum due to the car  don't see the use of the second channel here in that case
the turn gets translated to up and down of the elevator  ??? ??? ??? beats me

I would rather get the concept cleared before determining the budget.

A two channel control system ???? Basically, to fly one would need to move up/down (1st ch), left/right (2nd ch) and regulate speed (3rd ch). So if you have a challenge to use just 2ch, then what do you do?

One solution I can think of is make it similar to control line model. This can be done by fixing one wing tip to a long cord and anchoring the cord to a pole. In this manor the plane keeps flying in a circle, so then with 2ch you control the up/down and speed. Alternate to this could be a rudder fixed at an angle to give a wide circular flight path.

Or keep the throttle fixed, and fly till the ESC cuts off due to battery depletion ?   :headscratch:  (Sounds like the diesel days).

Hmmm.... will need spare battery to power the electronics.

sushil_anand

ESC's with in-built BEC cut off the motor before the battery is completely depleted, but continue to supply the radio, giving you more than enough time to bring in the airplane.

That is something I wanted to test one of these days.  How long before the receiver/servo power is also removed, after the motor is cut-off ?

Even the motor cut off on many ESCs are gradual, like there is a "warning" cut off (or low power output mode) before it gets worse.

Anwar, will this suggestion work? I mean if the ESC is not connected to the receiver (remember we have only 2 channel), then will it not consider it as total signal loss and shut off the motor? If this be the case, then how do we power up the motor?

Will need to supply a signal to the ESC to simulate an "always-on" throttle situation.  Should be possible with a simple circuit.

There are many simple servo testing circuits available online, as a good start.

the car electronics wouldn't be able to handle power more than ~20w
if u can design such a circuit that power is directly supplied to the motors and using the receiver to give the commands the it would work otherwise no chance as in that power no plane can designed in my knowledge

also, the motor and servo should should have only two wires so u cannot use brushless motors and servos used in rc planes

also u should use ch2 as rudder and give elevator a pre decided trim so as the plane could have additional lift and could land safely

the size of the plane and weight of the plane also matters so make a ultra light plane so that a little thurst could push a plane forward

if u r not in short of budget the u can order these for micro rc OR use the standard radio systems

http://www.microflight.com/Online-Catalog/Radio-Systems/Deluxe-Starter-Set-1
http://www.microflight.com/Online-Catalog/Radio-Systems/Deluxe-Starter-Set-2
http://www.microflight.com/Online-Catalog/Radio-Systems/Deluxe-Starter-Set-3

it includes every thing u need for a micro rc

if u have a two wire motor with prop then connect it directly to a battery with a switch so that it is always on while the two functions on the remote could be used as elevator and rudder

this is a wonderful hack where a simple 2 channel rc car has been converted to be used with a plane with some simple modifications.
