I build a Quad with F450 frame and 2212 920kv motors (readytosky).
APM2.8 is the FC and 30A Simonk ESC.

Being my first one (I started with KK2.1 and now APM), my quad knocks-off frequently. Either to a remote tree or while landing.
My observation and problem is, with almost every minor crash also, ESC stops working.
Means, motor starts stuttering and I re-calibrate ESCs and still status is same.
I replace ESC and it's normal. I have changed 6 ESCs till now.

My query is,
Are ESCs so sensitive?
or there is something wrong with connections or which I donno?
Do I need to have some additional protection around it (I am using cable ties at both ends, where 3 & 2 wires start)
I bought couple of them from Chinese source (Aliexpress)
Then I got from one Indian source Robu.in.
Later I got from another source in India Sunrobotics.com
Issue remains same.

Thanks

are u using branded esc???..as far as i know those generic red yellow esc are useless..get good esc...hobbywing or emax or good reliable ones..... it will help eliminate problem avenues.
always invest in good parts..worth it

So many things can go wrong during flight. A flight video would be very useful to know the reason for crash.
ESC might have been damaged when you crash into a tree which results motor to stop forcefully and drawing much more amps than ESC can deliver.

Cheap Chinese ESC are no good for any reason except for college project where you may have to leave your model in college.

You say that you have got from multiple websites? That means not all ESC are same. I don't know this.

Thanks for inputs.
I will try to get branded stuff.
Do you think, different ESCs (all 30A) could be one of the cause?
Also, some one suggested that 'In the configuration there is a setting "Low RPM Power Protection". Check it and your problem should be solved.' - How and where to to do this.....Mission Planner?

Hello,

I use 3 X 20A ESC (Oneshot42)  and 1 X 30A (Dshot 600) on my racing quad.  Everything works fine.  I have not had any issues.

Hope this helps.

What is the prop you are using with the motor, and what is recomended from motor's datasheet or KV and wattage?
We have to unite and to prove ourself to make indigenous products as well as marketing / Canvasing them. I'm sure we must achieve success if we try unitedly.
