When I landed the plane (it was a fast, belly landing ), my control horns came off from the ailerons. I used the standard araldite glue to fix them. Should I use some other glue ? ???

Please help me on this.

ramarao

For maximum strength use Araldite (or any equivalent like Bondtite or Fevitite) The 5 minute version works fine

Cyano is the recommended glue, but remember: Cyano never sticks well onto itself. So, for a cyano joint which has come loose use epoxy or hot glue. Use hot glue sparingly, and only on such joints where there is less joint area and you have to create a fillet. It is heavy, and has less strength

You should use CA glue.
Wont the CA will eat the foam ? I have skysurfer and when i tried on it, CA melt the foam.

Very very surprising! EPO/EPP should not get affected. In fact, it is a manufacturer's recommendation.

I have never built a skysurfer, but have built 3 Multiplex models (Easystar, Funcub, Tucan) and never had a problem

Thanks a lot ramarao, allthatido and SanjaiRai sir. . . I will use CA / hot glue gun . .  :)

maahinberi

Sanjay Sir, Multiplex uses a modified form of EPO (which they call Elapor) which is specially made such that it can be glued with Cyano. EPO otherwise melts with cyano.
docsree, do not use Cyano. I would suggest using epoxy.

Use 5 min epoxy it will give you the max amount of strength , or you can use foam safe glue works fine as well

Wont recommend using CA on foam

I just checked RCB website. Sky Surfer is in fact EPP, unlike Blazer (which I had repaired for a friend using Cyano) which is EPO.

My apologies

sundaram

Unless it's a new kind of foam with RCB, we have built and repaired RCB sky surfer with cyno Flexkwick.

manojswizera

Lot of different results ! :o

I used Flexkwick on skysurfer V2 and it statred eating foam ,  Whereas it worked fine for Sundaram sir,
Elapor is CA friendly so it worked fine for Sanjaysir too.

@Docsree, You first try CA and let us know.
Epoxy is another best option if CA doesn't work in your case.

Oh,,,
I used Hot glue last night and it has worked fine. May be I would try CA next time whenever necessary and let you guys know. . .
