Well,
I thought I should share this with others as I had a hard time figuring out the proper way to plug in the servo into the receiver and trying to bind. My post is specific to DX6i and AR6200 but should be true (my guess) for other Tx and RX from Spektrum as well.

First the problem list.....
1) The TX+RX kit that came did not have a bind plug
2) The manual shows bind plug connected via a switch - I have no switch but ESC with a BEC.
3) The manual is in B/W with no indication on the color code. The colors of the servos and BEC are Yelow, Red, Brown

So, my experience for binding went as follows...
I do not insert the bind plug. I connect my RX to the power source, I can do so with yellow towards the center, the LED flashes for a second or so, the servo shakes a bit, but nothing happens after that. Next, if I plug in the power source with brown lead towards the center, the LED on both the RX stays on - solid.

So after a lot of google research, I located the problem and the solution is as follows -------

So first the color code... Spektrum uses Yellow, Red, Brown cable, with Yellow being for signal, Red for positive lead and the brown for negative lead.

Next a bind plug is usually a plug that shorts the signal and the -ive leads, so a servo connector with a short for these two leads suffices as a bind plug. I did not have a spare servo connector, so just used a stiff wire to short these two leads while taking care as not touch the middle (+ive) lead.

Ensure that the motor is not connected to the ESC (also ensure that the ESC's motor connector do not touch each other. Insert the BEC output into the receiver's throttle position.

Ensure atleast one servo is plugged in to verify the success of the bind process.

Connect the RX to the battery. You should see flashing light on both the RX.

Now, while pulling up to the trainer switch in the TX, switch it on. The message BIND appears in the TX. After sometime, the RX's LEDs stop blinking and turn solid.

Disconnect the RX from the power, remove the bind plug, switch off the TX (you should see message - Saving Data). after sometime, turn on the Tx and then the Rx. The LED on the RX turns on after a few sec and if I move the controls in the Tx and I can see the servo arm moving... SUCCESS!!!!

Folks, do post similar how-to for other Tx/Rx as well so that newbies like me can benefit.
