Hi guys I have been practicing on the basic controls.of planes.I made an old fogey and now want to make another plane probably which is capable of aerobatics...kindly suggest which plane should I make ?
The electronics I have are :
Cf 2812 motor
1500 mAh 3s lipo
30 amp esc.
Also kindly suggest the prop size.
And plz suggest something that is not very hard to fly....
Suggestions awaited ......

you could make a FT simple Storch or Simple cub with those. Both are excellent 4 channel first-timers.
Try to keep the weight low.
your battery is a little big for the simple cub and little small for the storch. That, however can be taken care of by the battery position.
Prop size depends on the plane you choose. 9" for storch while 8" for cub.

Out of those 2 which one will you recommend and how many sheets of depron will be required ?(20*30) inch.

prabal276

I would personally recommend the FT Simple Storch owing to the larger wingspan and ability to add flaps.
It also would be having a lower wing loading.
For the sheets you can get a rough idea by 3/4*(total area of tiled plans). Get a few more than indicated. They may come in use. if they don't, there will always be the next plane requiring them.

I have a 2200 mAh 3s 25c lipo will that work fine for the storch with the above mentioned setup ?

Did not understand this  ???The tiled plans of the storch have 34 pages how do I get to know how many sheets will be needed?

And also buddy should I use Cf 2812 or a2212 10t 1400 kv motor for that plane...I think the plane will weigh about 900 gms...

@knvshrm,

How much depron do you have?
What thickness?
Can you get, say, 2 sheets of about 20"*30" of 5-8mm thickness?
Do you have any CF tube/rod/strip? Size?

How many flights did you do with the first model? At least 10-12, or just one?

If you've had some practice, you could build something like this...

knvshrm

Sir I don't have any Cf rods I have been practicing with my first plane and it has crashed 2 or three times but still it's intact and ready for another flight. I do not have any depron will buy depron as recommended...Sir I want to build something which is still not very tough to fly please sir recommend a model.I have 2 choices of motors n batteries that I can use they are listed above...
Regards
EDIT:
Sorry sir forgot to mention....That is an awesome built is it self designed ? But sir are low wingers difficult to fly ?

K K Iyer

Can you get depron easily?
Say 2 sheets of 5-8mm?

How many working servos do you have now? 2,3, or 4?

knvshrm

Yes sir. I can get depron...the shop is about 2hrs away from home.

knvshrm

Presently I have 2 working servos and 2 with centering problems...

K K Iyer

Ok
I'll get back tomorrow with some suggestions
Meanwhile DO NOT USE THE UNRELIABLE SERVOS. Retire them!

@knvshrm,
Download this and print.
https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_files_03/3632/Spitfire_mk1_marutaka_oz3632.pdf

It's 36" span, so you need two 40" sheets, preferably 8mm.
You need only the outline of the wing, tail and fuselage.
I'll send details of how to build it in depron, after you tell me what thickness you have.
This should really be your third model, as it is fully aerobatic, and not for a beginner.

Tomorrow I'll think of a suitable plan for a second model.

Meanwhile try to get as much Flying experience as you can with your first model.

Yes, from flying point of view.

Foamy Spitfire probably easier to build.
Let me know the size of the depron first

Sir just asked the size of 1 sheet is 40 by 60 inches. And thickness I'll take as  suggested by you sir.

@knvshrm,
Download plan from outerzone and print.
Copy outline of wing, tail, fuselage.
One sheet of 40*60" will be more than enough (8mm if possible)

See this thread to get an idea of how to cut and assemble parts.
http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/iyer's-36'-foamy-p51-mustang-build/msg247239/#msg247239

The problem now is that the wing needs a spar to avoid flexing.
Can you get a carbon fibre tube of about 3mm diameter?

knvshrm

knvshrm

I will find a Cf tube that should not be an issue . But sir is it easy to fly for someone like me ?

Sir what electronics to use ?

Use what you already have. One servo for ailerons, one for elevator. Rudder is fixed.

Sir is there any ft model that you would recommend? The reason why I want to make a ft one is that I have the power pod ready and there are videos on how to make it ...So sir any ft model you recommend ?
