Hi Guyz,
I just received my RCB7X today, and  :( :( :( the simulator dongle does not get detected in my laptop ( XP ) or desktop ( Win7 )

I have followed all the videos from Razaar, installing the g4 and emu also.. but it just does not get detected.. I would be calling the RcBazzar guyz tomorrow mrng, guess it is too late now...

Just worried that hope it is not the issue posted here some months back regarding a faulty chip, I waited too long to try the sim this weekend

Regards
Peter

Hey Guyz , I called RcBazzar, and spoke to dilip, who helped me resolve the issue, basically he asked me to press the master button on the receiver and it was done.. thank you dilip and Rc bazaar..

RCNeil21

I will suggest this if your building a scratch built(homemade plane)
http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/my-favorite-plane-so-far-slow-slow-slow-flyer/

Made by roman sir, its a good slow flying plane, also look on reply #11 for a power system.
Roman sir made for 100rs  ;D
Build planes like feathers rather than tanks, both handle bullets equally well.

hey karan, this hobby isn't cheap, and if you are serious about it, then you shall have to be ready to make an investment... even if you do buy a cheap controller, it won't work for you for too long... it's better to invest now and enjoy the benefits, than to cheap out...

hope it helps ;D

i m new and i want to buy a rc plane which has to be pnp and no further acceseries is required .so plz suggest me an aerobic plane from range 5000 to 9000 or may be 10000 so plz suggest me.............

aniket210696

hi vikas, if you are new, then i wouldnt suggest you start with a aerobatic(if that's what you meant) plane. instead, get a trainer. you can check out the skysurfer from rcbazaar... that's a good beginner plane, and it can also do mild aerobatics...hope it helps :)

Hi All ,
Probably I am very odd for this hobby but however it attracted me. I am a middle aged fellow as well as a beginner in this field. I have very little theoretical as well as practical knowledge of making aero models as well as flying. This forum i found is really helpful. Can u guys please help me where from can I start with a very low budget ? Can I make slow flyer planes made of foam / Cheap material as a starter ? Can I get any tutorial/guideline regarding this ?

Thanks and reagrds

The best way is to find a group of flyers, and get associated with them. If you want to start on a low budget, buy a radio set (a good one, if need be second hand) - this has a good resale value - and a trainer like Easystar 2 (RC Dhamaka) or sky surfer (RC Bazaar)

Do be prepared to invest about 15~20 K initially.

There are suggestions on how to go super-cheap, but when you are a beginner, flying itself is a tremendous strain! The last thing you want is faulty equipment, or a poorly made model - that is the easiest way to put you off the hobby for good

This is my $ 0.02 worth

I've probably stirred a hornet's nest, and many people will advise how the radio set can be got in 2 K, and you can build a model in 1 K........your choice

Sir ,
Investing 15K is a bit difficult for me .Well I can save for  a few month. Where can I get a second hand Radio ? Can you give me some sample spec. and cost ? The Trainers you suggested comes around Rs 5000. A new Avionic RCB7X (7ch tx with 7ch rx and wireless simulator) in RC Bazzar costs Rs 5000. Am I required to invest some more ?
Please excuse my ignorance.

I have no flyer group operating nearby.

I don't have any experience in flying. In that case should I start with a SIM ? Sorry for my confused state....

hey rc novice, if your in cal, I know that flying happens every Sunday at a race course over there.. something starting with m or so, forgot the name though... if you are serious about rc, you will need a few things :
for the ground-
a remote (that's the obvious one. good ones include turnigy 9x/fsth9x) - 5000/-
a charger(not a cheap 2-3s charger, I'm talking about the better digital ones, like the turnigy accucel 6)
- 2000-3000/-
for the air -
a plane (surprise) a good one to buy is the bixler/skysurfer/easy star. it is a very good beginners plane. you can check out rcbazaar, rcdhamaka, rcbharat etc... they stock this.
an ARF plane will set you back around 5k+shipping...
so the total is coming to around 13... out of this, 7k is a one time purchase. you use the same charger and remote for all your models...

you can check out the rc India gems section for further explanations on the parts of the plane etc...

hope this helps! ;D

We all start in a 'confused state' :D Nothing to worry about

There are many fliers from Kolkatta on this forum. Do a search and you will find them. Kalyan-da  is very senior, and very helpful.

The RCB Avionic Radio has very good features; however, not having used it or interacted with someone actually using it, it's hard for me to comment. Again, do a search on this forum, and you are sure to find lots of reviews. My personal experience is that Futaba, JR, Hitec, Spectrum are very good radios. FrSky is supposed to be good, as is it's Taranis model. Flysky is cheap and popular, but one of the guys flying with us went nuts with it's very short range, which caused him two crashes, lots of monetary loss and heartburn. Second hand radios are advertised almost daily on this forum. You need minimum 4 Ch, 6 is good

Besides what you have listed, you would need Servos (4 to start with, about 250~ 300 ea for 9 gm) a motor (depending on size from 700 upwards) at least 2 batteries (1000 upwards each) a charger, some tools, and miscellaneous.

Feel free to PM me if you want :)

I would say you should first visit the RC field first.
Speak with some of the people around there,
you will get lot of suggestions on procuring your equipment.
try making some friends .
if you are lucky you can get used stuffs for a better price, bcoz lot of people have excess of stuffs that they are ready to give to serious pursuers of this hobby.

You can go with this plane
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/1138-sky-surfer-v2-motor-servos-esc-lipo-charger.aspx

its a beginner plane and very forgiving. very stable and easy to fly. this combo has everything except Transmitter and receiver. which you can buy separately.

My suggestion would be to read as much as one can about flying the models.... as that is the most difficult part.
Firstly.   Read some aerodynamics which is all physics but very usefull when it comes to flying....  Last month I saw a guy trying a tailwind take off and ending up in the ground with the wing tip broken......  He knew nothing about aerodynamics and why only head wind take offs must be performed......
Secondly.   Visit the local RC fliers and watch them.  You will gain a lot of knowledge.
Thirdly.     Buy a simulator and a chuck glider (costing about Rs 100+ /-) as this will help understand the construction of a model.
Fourthly.   Buy a glider.... Electric or IC engine..... Electric can be direct from HK with a foam model.  IC can be a .15 Glow or a Sharma 1.5 (cost approx 3000 - 4000) and an ARF Apple Box (even a kit of Apple Box will be fine).  Gliders are easy to fly and something like Apple Box flies for over 10 minutes with an engine run of about 1 minute and hence works out extremely cost effective.  Later when comfortable can move to an aerobatic glider or a powered aeroplane.

FINALLY....... OWN CONSTRUCTED model will give more pleasure than an ARF..... thats my view.
Well I been into aeromodelling since I was in School....  and then been in the air for over 30 years.  Now looking to be back into aeromodelling full time...

Manish.

Try to avoid buying radios from international site as most of the time it held by custom department, and you have to pay almost same amount as shipping charge.

you can look into this below link, if it fits into your budget.
