all we run behind big ships, speed boats, and tugs..etc...etc...but none of us will think about a rowing boat...why..? its clear...the toughness to find, or to make a rowing mechanism..its true, i was loooking for such mechanism, for me..so i searched..but none of them wasnt easy to make, and some of them was actuated by three and four servos for one side..and it need a circular movements of control stick, all with a good timing...sooo messy....
so i smoked my brain a lots...and started to trace on my drawing board with a hot coffee...as my Maa's filter coffee inspires me..i found a solution for my worry.
I seached for a good doll around me in all shops..but none of them was in scale, some was 2 foot long..after some disappoinment, i got three dolls, from a car goods seller, as key chains...those three was almost in 1:30 th scale.and finaly, i took a doll from my brother...
so i started with the longest doll, as you see here...
then i removed its hands from body.....
i took a smaller crown wheel, from an old toy, and made this setup, as you see here...
fter pasting the head and hands on the shaft, i waited for a day...
after the setting time of the glue, i added some more reinforcements on it...
and i placed it over a toy gear box, with a reworked motor for 6 volts....
i fixed two aluminium brackets at the tips of the each hand, to fix the oars..
the oars was made out of foam board..and oar rods from brass welding rods...
the rudder set up is conventional, as the craft is too slow in nature....it made out of foam board, and driven by a toy gear box, via a walkman belt...
the basic hull is expanded polystrene, and all additions where done by foam board...
Wow!!!! :o
That looks cool and good also. I have never seen a boat with doll rowing it. {:)} {:)}
i placed my baby as a trial here...
i added lots of weight all over the back,of the craft, to retain the momentum, aqquired by the oars...if not, the craft will stall...and jerks, insted of a foreward
motion...
whole hull was made out of thermocol...and strips were done by foam boards...
the paint was ordinary enamel paint...and was added a lots of talcum powder in it...
and i am adding the video links here....
for sound effects...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiGyNu3FI6Y
for mechanism...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEnAB-jjTsg
for actual running....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Oia01WdNb8 Friends..so i hope you may do some thing like this...you can see here how simple is...
thank you Ved...i hope i can inspire you...and i hope i can get many ideas from you all...
