Hi, I am planning to built a speed boat. Here is the list of parts which i want to put
1.Hull : 20inch (Mono Hull)
2.Motor : Turnigy XK2040 4500kv inrunner brushless
3. ESC : HobbyKing 30A Boat ESC
4. Propeller : 35mm
5. Servo : Standard Analog 38g/4.3kg
6. Battery : 2s 5000mah

Which material should i use for building hull for efficiency and stability? Are the parts are ok ? So pliz let me know this is my first speed boat. Thanking you in anticipation. I am from Manipur stationed in Delhi.

Balsa or 2mm plywood or sunboard anyone of these can be used for hull.

Your choice of electronics are more suited to a much larger boat. What is the weight of a 5000 mah battery? At 400 gms, it will displace 400 cc of water.

Whereas your motor and esc seem sized correctly, I would advise you to go in for the water cooled versions of these

As the max amperage drawn by this motor is 20 A, the battery would give you 15 min at full throttle, or about 25 minutes normal running

35 mm prop seems large at 4500 KV

Thank you for your reply. So please suggest me the best part. Actually i'm planning to built WILD THING 48 but not 48. i am going to downscale it to 24 inch.

There are some very accomplished boat craftsmen on this forum; SBMaharana, VC, Gajjar, Rooster, Neil and so many more. I'll wait for their reply.

But first decide this: Are you going to base your design around the 24" length, or the motor/battery combo. They are not necessarily compatible
