Title: Homemade Hovercraft.
Post by: miginstruments on December 23, 2014, 12:29:46 AM
Well I think its raining Hovercrafts. I was just sitting around and watching some RC videos over Youtube, n then came across the idea of building a Hovercraft. Went through various build logs and found that most of them ve been built using foam. i dint had foam and am not in Bangalore anymore so it was difficult to get foam at my place, especially the Shipping Part is troublesome. But I had some Coro Sheets lying around ( Has bought to scratch build an Airplane, but not getting enough confidence.) So I started with these things.

The problem was the motor mounts. Coro wouldnt have enough strength. So I decided to go for Thermocol, I got 25mm Thermocol sheet and cut down into blocks. now in order to provide some more strength I wrapped the blocks through Duct Tape. Then sticked the blocks together to form the Mounts.

Use ply for the mount the vibrations from the motor will break it.

Yes finally I used a ply as the mount, but the holder is coro. Though its not the solution but I ve checked it out the vibrations are bare.

Hello Friends, completed the Hovercraft but sadly it is not working as it is meant to be. There are some loop holes that has to be filled. I am still working on it. The problem is it is not moving in the forward direction freely. Instead it is circling. Also the Rudder is not working at all. I think I need to redesign it and also has to change its position. These are the problems. So I am thinking to start a new Build itself from scratch. What do you people say. Waiting for suggestions. Thanks in Advance. have a Nice New Year
