the morning was still sleeping in the blanket of lazy night...it was so cold...i was standing at the deck of the mighty paddler...some dews droped in my face..oh..it was soo cold...still i was dreaming with my dreams...suddenly..i lost my dream as, the Swan whistles up..kooooy....then its engine chugs....it was really like heart beats...of the mighty craft...then my craft started to streach through my river with agreat musical notes of the steam engine...koooy...chug...chug...it was an amazing experience...this kind of experience is so sweet even in our dreams...but all we know its almost not possibleto travel in a such craft...so think about a craft that slowly chugs in front of us...with smoke...ohhh..it will be a marvellous sight....
it was a long dream to realize a paddler in to my collection...so i searched all over...and i got some nice photographs from my respected friends, from Model Boat Mayhem, and yes some valuable advices regarding the nature of the steam paddlers...thanking to all of them....

rathikrishna

so now i have photographs and guidances...so i decided to proceed with my ideas...really this craft was inspired by the mighty craft the LULONGA...
but yes i added a lots of imagination with it...size and scale...etc...all with structure...and finished it in to 1:35th scale..

rathikrishna

i started as usual, with thermocol..for hull...after shaping it i finished it with car body putty...

figures showing various stages of basic finishing...

then it was the time to make oars...to get a neat circle, i remembered the advice and guidance from my brother...use a drill..!!!..so i made it...
after making circles i made the oar strips with foam board...

rathikrishna

then some super glue, and it was there...

rathikrishna

the entire craft is driven by a toy gearbox, with areworked motor, for less RPM, with great torque, and with M  amps...

rathikrishna

the motor is reworked for 6 volts...

then i fixed it on my hull...but at begining it gave me some head aches...but i seeked some guidance from the veterans from Model Boat Mayhem..
then it rectified...the height wand speed of the oar was the problem...once again i thanking all respected veterans in Model Boat Mayhem...

rathikrishna

then it was the time to add a thrust pump on my craft for a instant turn....

the thrust pump is made out of foam board...

rathikrishna

after extensive tests, for days, i started to work on super structure....
all is from 1mm and 4 mm foam boards....its too hard to get foam boards here..i have a drive of 120 kms for it...and back...oh...

rathikrishna

the next photo shows the basic layout of the radio and speed controller...the radio was a 27 MHz toy Rc, and speed controller is based on MJE 3055..working nicely....

rathikrishna

a steam craft will not be full filled without a smoke...so i made a puffing smoke generator for this craft, from a toy gear box, with a bellows from a baby bicycle..so doing well...

rathikrishna

then started to pinting...all paints are enamel based...with hand brush...

the funnel is nothing but a piece of a PVC pipe...

rathikrishna

the hand rails are from brass welding rods t avoid rusting...
then it started to run through in pools and rivers...CHUG...CHUG...koooooyyyy.....hi....hi...

rathikrishna

and finished...

rathikrishna

some..

Good morning all and Thank you..but i have a request..dont be in mazements..its simple to do...and i request you all again to make lots of crafts for you...i will post some good postings to make a craft from thermocol, step by step, in easy ways...and for that we do not need any expensive stuffs with us...to make and run a craft, we need only a mere 300/- Rs with you...include paints...and all other will come from scraps..include a radio system...but now i am held up in my duty...so i need a little time to do that...any how i will post it all to help you...so all we can save ample of hardy earned money, and make more and more crafts with us...and it will not be a loss if you make any mistakes while making...you lose only a money for a coffee with two cutlets...so many of our begginers can also build many mighty crafts...so give me a little time...have a nice day all..
