Hi All,
Finally I picked up a small cruiser boat "Mite" and built it over the weekend.
It's a small sized balsa wood kit. Was bit easy to make, but the shapes where not matching the plan, so had some difficulty in figuring out the parts.
Will post the sequence of the build pics soon.

Now, I want to know what I should do next?
How do I make the boat water tight?
What are the materials to use in order to get the paint on the boat?

Please quid me....

Please post pictures of what you have built so far ! :)

Where are all the boat folks ? Is it just a few coats of varnish (that is what I heard from Philip, a boat modeller friend) ?

Yes, Varnish, Laquire are fine to waterpoof the hull, but I prefer "Sanding sealer", easily available in hardware stores, you have add Industrial thinner.

Maharana..its nice, we can use PU Putty, over the surface, and can easily sand it out..to shape.will not add any much weight, and then can paint it with anti fungi, or can with ordinary enamel paint. will last a life time..

While googling I came across something like this

Using fiberglass of the hull...
"Glassing or Fiberglassing requires the use of an epoxy or polyester resin to attach fiberglass CLOTH or MATTE to the surface".
any clue on this?.

Can anyone tell me how to mix the Pu putty or the Varnish, Laquire, Sanding Sealer the ratio etc.
Is there a procedure or process to make them?
And what do I ask the local store...any common name...

Please help

If you want to glass the hull, then no need to apply sanding sealer. Apply one coat of resin in side the hull, and wet the outside with fiberglass cloth, even you can use any silk cloth with resin. There is enough information how to glass the hull, just use "search" with keywords.
