This is the build log of my new fiberglass RC Tug Boat, 1st of all I want to thank Maharana Sir, for sharing his plans, and Ideas to deal with the fiberglass, though it was my 1st time with fiberglass, but some how I managed to come out with a hull made out of fiberglass.at first I thought it was easy, BUT ITS NOT, faced a lot of trouble with the air pockets and the release agent.
below are some pics
I tried to take out 2 part mould, but it failed (fibergass Din't dry), so I have to scrap off and make it again, then I fiberglass the whole thing and then cut it into 2.
some pics below.
Mould released
excellent build {:)} {:)} {:)}
another couple of builds you will be experienced enough to overcome things like air pockets, working within the cure time of resin etc.
All the best.

Cool! Change the screws to grub screws fitting flush. Will reduce imbalance and vibrations :D
Good one.. Also see that you have grub screw diametrically opposite as well.. this will ensure balancing of the coupler.
some of the pictures of this tugboat, hope this will help in detailing deck, cabin etc :

great !!!
shaft angle looks a bit on higher side, it should be more parallel to water line.
1st test run seem to be OK. but there are some issues. water is coming in through shaft. for 10 mins run about 50ml of water. what if I put some grease inside the tubing, will it stop the water.
anyways here are some pics. uploading the vid. very soon
hi bro that is an awesome work :salute: :salute: :salute:
Respect !!!
bro just wanted to know the motor and ESC connections for two dc motors, also wanted to know the ESC used .
:hatsoff:
at present I used only 1 ESC for both motors its a brushed ESC with reverse, which I brought from DX
esc
Grease us a must for stuffing tube.. it will eliminate the water issue
I use vaseline :)

looks good on water; any plan for independent motor control?
I wanted to control motors independently but dont have any idea, how to, I using FS 4ch transmitter, and for throttle I am usingh ch 2 i guess, which is for elevator. if u guys have any ideas then please share
thanks
If you have a plain 4 channel remote, purchase a V Tail mixture separately, connect motors to ch. 1 & 2 through V Tail.
attaching couple of line diagrams with and without V Tail mixture.
Note: while connecting 2 ESCs (disable BEC wire (red one) of any one ESC.
i'LL TRY THE 1ST DIAGRAM
THANKS
There is no much difference between diag. 1 & 2 but diag.2 is easy to operate.
guys, can u help me with the painting, will the oil paint hold on fiberglass, i had already applied a primer coat, n some filler, :help:
Oil paint :headscratch: I mean enamel paint. no problem when applied on FG, to make the surface more sticky, sand the surface with 180 or higher emery paper with water.
Is it complete?
Not completed busy with some work these days. Last wat I did was a coat of black paint(http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/11/03/uvagygem.jpg)

CABIN
stickers or paint for detailing?
was thinking of painting
Nice build
some update
Please post a link to the ESC that you have used and (in case I've missed it) what is your motor + prop combo?
where is everybody in Boat section... anyways I need a help. I have brass rod for railing , but could'nt glue, can u gys help me with this
Better than Vaseline, I think clear silicone grease should work better at water proofing..
It's more viscous though, so a little more resistance expected
Rest u can try n see how well it performs
Anyway good innovative DIY boat mate 👍
Christopher, I soldered mine in the Neptune build. Works good
some updates, m not getting time to complete this, its almost done.
I could'nt wait... although its not completed here are some pics..
Nice build.
